If you don't run tire pressures less than, say 20 psi, then you'll be fine without rim locks. If you wanna run with 12-14 psi, then you'll definitely want them.

If you run rim locks, does it really throw off the balance at highway speeds?

I have run 15psi with no rim lock and did not have a problem. I would not go any lower than that without one though.

I've run less than that, to the point that the air guage didn't register....no rim locks. The wrr really doesn't put down enough power down.

I'm hoping for a ride tomorrow. I can't go for the whole day, but I should be good from early morning until about 1pm.
Hunting season starts Monday so tomorrow would really be the last day for trail riding. You name the time and place.

Have any of you been in a situation where you wished you had a kick starter on this bike?

Never enough to think much about it. With a totally dead battery I rolled off a 3' berm and bump started it. Easy- peasy.

I found my battery dead in the parking lot at work (totally flat) and even with my 606 knobbies I just had to run with it and pop the clutch in 2nd and away I went... The engine warning light you get with a super low battery went out in about 5 miles.

Finally got my dirt wheels mounted up. Only went through through two front tubes getting the tires on the rims
![]() It was a lot harder than the guy in the you tube video made it seem. The handling will definitely take some getting used to. ![]() 1 234 by stedfastbloom, on Flickr ![]() 1 236 by stedfastbloom, on Flickr |
