Moose plastic skid plate
2-3 weeks ago we had a couple of posts on the Moose skid plates. I know a couple of inmates posted pics, but I don't recall any reviews. I got mine last week and mounted it up yesterday. It fit nicely, with flush, flat-head screws on the bottom surfaces. Mounting was a piece of cake, it took about as long to get the bike up on the lift as it did to mount the plate.
The big issue with aluminum skid plates-noise? Not an issue with this one. I went for a short ride without the helmet (not my normal practice of course) just to hear better. It's no louder with the plate. In fact it actually seems like the plastic plate dampens some noise and makes things quieter. At worst, it's not noticably louder. Overall, I'm happy. Now if the silly thing wasn't so stinkin' spendy. |

You get those lights from a Buell?
I know a guy that did that to his KLR. Your install job looks nicer though.

That looks like the Lynx fairing from Britannia Composites. (Not from a Buell).. Anyone know if the Lynx works with Highway Dirt Bike handguards?
Second Question : If you put a quiet core insert into a FMF Q4, does it affect your mapping on your programmer?

Looking for a windscreen
I plan on getting the Highway dirtbike fat bars/top clamp and would like a windscreen that is compatable. I want something small that won't get damaged off road. What do you suggest?

Windscreen Option
Quote:
This one is next on my list... http://www.screensforbikes.com/galle...250-r-08-12-2/ I can't wait to get it! Seems like the best option I've seen so far... and the owner is a great guy too! I have no affiliation with the company whatsoever... I just think this is the perfect size windscreen... for me anyway! |
