I just picked up an 09 wr250r. Only 3500 miles and in great shape. Rare to find one locally and for a good price.
Anyway, I am looking to pick up a rear rack. If anyone has an old one they are looking to sell let me know.
Thanks

Welcome swimmer. I too recently bought a used '09 with similar mileage (3,500 kilometers).

Have patience, and a deal may come up. I got a GYTR rack and Flatlands skidplate for $100 for both. Neither was damaged, just needed a little paint on the rack.

I find the GYTR rack too small though, so am planning to modify it over the winter - remove the sheet metal cover, and add an aluminum plate to extend it 1" on both sides and the rear, with perimeter slots for straps.

this is all i wanted, super clean looking (imho)
i don't do any rock crawling, just wanted to deflect the occasional kicked up trail debris.
$80 super easy install, includes 4 allen head bolts & can stay on for oil changes

Brought this home last week-

Less than 1800 miles, '09.

Will fix it up to ride the CDR late next summer and to/ from. Will pull stuff off like BigDog or Rick Ramsey to lighten it up. Then I plan to add a 4.7 gal gas tank with the foam to control the fuel sloshing, Seat Concepts (as on my 230L), plastic skid plate (no noise...had some with the alu skid plate on the 230L), probably some wide footpegs since I really like the ones on the 230L from XRs Only, transfer the TCI windshield from the 230L to the WRR. Probably will get some D606s on it near the CDR dirt after using the TWs to get there. Will plan to use my Giant Loop Great Basin and 40L dry bag for my gear and camp, and will plan to camp most of the time on the Forest (free).

Got the maps, shopping and trying to understand gps- I have used map and compass since 1965 when I was a Cub Scout. I find the whole gps thing pisses me off at times...fricken $$ and add maps and bla bla- I did the WABDR just fine without a gps, not to mention traveling in the '70s AK Hwy and some BC dirt roads with just road maps. Will probably buy a moderate priced gps since I will have good maps.

Winter is here so I will not be riding until at least late March, foothills in June and high country late July.Looking forward to it!

IMHO: The bike doesn't want to get put to bed.
Yeah, probably..but it is what it is. Just had a baby boy, so he is gonna be a priority for next few months.....at least.

Near Watertown. I haven't figured out a price yet. I'll need to do a little research on what they are going for. I'm putting the original headlight back on so I can have two squadron lights on my 500. I can post some pics when I'm finished.

A few posts back there was talk of skid plates-here's my modified FlatlandPhotobucket

I'm not afraid to ride it hard as can be seen in the dent in the radiator & exhaust pipe. I don't try to beat on my bike, but if you plan to ride it in the woods you might consider this modification. I was glad I was carrying a spare one of these

Nice skid plate mod. Been mulling that over myself, think I'll give it a try. Did you use 6061?

In the meantime what size hose is that to carry. Keep meaning to add one to the spares kit.

I bought a spare stock hose. I had torn mine out in middle of woods and had to make shift repair it. Tore right at clamp line. Its in a vulnerable location. I thought about the same skid plate mod too...but lighter weight repair.

Ever if you carry a spare hose what are you going to refill the radiator with? Wont the fluid just piss out when you change the hose?
