Id like to know how it compares to the wrr. Power wise, handling, etc.

Any insight would be good.

Glutton for punishment eh?

Weighs ~55 lbs less, has ~ twice the HP, good suspension, etc.

The good stuff is somewhat off set by it being 1/3 more expensive and needing more frequent maintenance.

How much more maintenance?

How is the Katoom (the street-legal 350) on the pavement relative to the WRR, especially at 65 - 70 MPH for extended periods?

And can you get a big tank for the Katoom?

Pretty big difference. I don't really compare them to a WRR. Think around 15 hours for oil change, shorter if competition. I have ridden them on the street, and all I can say is I wouldn't want to drive more than a few miles on the pavement. This is a full on offroad bike, not a dual sport. BTW, plenty of KTM threads to ask this on!

You have to own a KTM to appreciate it. Every bike is a tradeoff. If you want to ride fast over the rough stuff, that is where they shine. Light and powerful. I used to be able to lean my 450 exc over and throw a leg over it. If I did that with my former DRZ or the WRR I have now it will be lying flat on the ground with me under it.....

Different tools.....that is all. Each is better at what it was designed for and what your intentions and skill level is. I never could ride that 450 to its full potential but I sure loved that bike. Hell I loved that DRZ and took it places I should have been on a KTM instead. But was on the wrong tool....them DRZ's are heavy to pick up.

KTM's require more maintenance but that power and suspension is worth it if you're going to use it. And honestly if you're not racing, the maintenance thing is blown out of proportion on the KTM's. All bikes need fresh oil and filter change if ridden hard or in dusty conditions. I never let my DRZ go over 1000 miles without new oil. Usually changed it after every 2 rides which was about 600 miles. I rode that bike pretty hard.

I'm just a guy with bad shoulders now so hopefully me and this WRR will be plunking down some gravel roads having a blast. Right Tool for me right now.

Any 300lb dual sport is not going to be fun above 65-70 for more than a few miles no matter if it has 10hp or 90hp. It's a weight, aerodynamics thing. Ever riden a light tall bike in a decent cross wind at highway speeds?

People compare these to bikes a lot but DRZ and WRR are completely different bikes. WRR is lighter, reacts to your commands faster, and is fun to ride both in the woods and on the road than DRZ.

I suggest you to sell your DRZ and get a bigger thumper to complement WRR like an XT. I have ridden an XT with WRR for a couple of months.

Valid point. I guess even in "spirited" riding around town or on gravel I was very bored with the DRZ's power. In my state we can't tag dirt bikes, if we could I would own a big bore and a barely legal machine. But alas I am looking for a true dual sport to take me on nice scenic trips of a week or to work on Monday morning. I just need to get over the fact that I have owned some high hp thumpers that I never really rode to their potential

I think the WR is perfect for that mission.....the extra weight/beefy subframe/350 watts of juice works in your favor.......my gut feeling is that the KTM 350F-XC-W is better suited to 3-4 day "travel light/fast" dualsport loops where the majority of the riding is off road......and that suits my primary riding style/mission......picking the bike up this Friday......boxes of farkle "stuff" arriving at the doorstep

If my mission statement was multiweek trips that involve ~25%+ slab component and/or commuting .......I'd be shopping for a replacement WR....
