Not 'easily', but it certainly fits.

Hey guys, I am currently still running the stock gearing, 13/43 I believe? How much higher can I go on the rear sprocket (safely) and still keep the stock chain? I would like to have beter gearing for offroad but also still be able to comfortably cruise at around 65-70. Is this possible? Thanks for any replies.

Differences in model year

Hi,

Does anyone know of any differences between the 2008 model year WR250R and the 2012 or 2013? I've found an 08 with very low mileage for a good price I'm thinking about buying.

Thanks

There a few internal parts that are different, like a different crank pin and one of the crank bearings. Long story short not much, if you found a good 08 buy it in a heartbeat!

Yeah...downfall of southern NJ. All the sand I want....but no mountains, hills, or any real actual dirt. I was envious watching Dakar, thinking how cool hills would actually to be to ride.

Hi,
There are no major differences for '08-'12. Some '08 had fuel pump problems, mine has not had any issues. Changes where all cosmetic, some say the new ones with the gold forks are faster, I don't know, I'm not good enough a rider to need a faster gold forked WRR.

If it's any consolation, there are no hills in the UP either.

I asked this earlier but I guess no one saw my post, but can I run the stock chain if I move up to 13/46 gearing? Thanks!

No pretty sure 45 is the max depending on tire with stock chain.

No, you'll need a 110L chain for a 13/46 combo. 45 barely fits, but is much happier with a 110L (its what I'm running currently).

For some reason, I was thinking stock chain was 110 links, but now I remember it's in fact 108. I can't imagine 108 will work with 13/46. Sorry.

44 is as big as you can go. I've been running one since July, and you notice the "slight" difference you might think. I'm getting ready to put on a new chain and go to 13-47, so If you want a 44 with 800 miles on it, I'll sell it for $25 shipped. It uses your stock bolts. Steel sprocket.
