Here's a pic of my dash, complete with hidden OEM ODO and my Trailtech Voyager. The Highway Dirtbike setup is new too. I have a small fuse panel on the way so I can get USB power on board and clean up my battery terminals, gearing and tires (of course) in the near future.

I have no problem with someone throwing money at this bike, just because it's little doesn't change the fact that I need it to do more than the guy who goes and rides OHV areas on the weekend. Do what you want - don't worry what other people think.
That is a nice setup. I have the Lynx fairing on my ADV bike as well. I find it much nicer without the windshield on. Try removing it and going for a ride. Much smoother airstream over the helmet. Height dependent of course.

Actually with the windshield on no matter where i adjusted it the wind blasted me in the helmet causing lots of noise and turbulence. With it removed the wind hits my neck and shoulders which is much nicer for me.

Rear fender mudflap tag / brake light plate holder assembly needed

Curious if any of you inmates has an OEM take off big ugly rear fender mudflap / license plate holder / taillight / tag light assembly unit (not sure what the actual name is) laying around gathering dust, using up valuable garage space, and that you are sooo ready to kick to the curb for spring cleaning... If so, I am in need and would be more than happy and appreciative to take it off your hands

... Please PM me if you can help

THANKS!

The day will come when you need to access the OEM head unit to observe error codes and initiate tests.

Looks pretty good though.

The 280 from Thumper Racing appeals to me more but I am right there with you. If I heard from 5 people that had the 280 kit and went 20K miles without problems, I would order it tomorrow.

Beauty indeed!

At what revs do you notice the increase most? Does it pull harder thru the full range, or run out of steam at the top? Stock FI, air box, and pipe?

This soooo appeals to me!

I've thought a lot about this comment - thank you.

There will always be room in the garage for another one.

My zeal to pour money into this machine is fading fast. With the new tires, I'll have everything checked off on my "add/replace first" list and so I think I'll just see how far I can go with it "almost stock."

On another note, am I the only one here who's envisioned transforming the extra, ground-level bedroom into a dedicated motorcycle garage complete with wide access door to the back yard?

When I mentioned this to wifey, she stopped what she was doing and expressed a few words of serious concern for my mental health.

Some people just don't get it and . . . hey, that's okay.

Could someone post what is the distance between the pegs and the top of the seat on WR250R?

Thank you.

This soooo appeals to me!
The kit I bought came with a FI programmer box from Athena. Two choices, I believe it's stock pipe and aftermarket pipe.

My scoot has an opened up airbox and K&N filter. Drilled holes through the airbox door and side panel (see pic).

I have a FMF Powerbomb header and a slightly modified stock muffler.
Basically I just drilled a hole in the baffleplate inside the exit end.
Just remove end cap and drill a 3/4" hole with a hole saw.
Note, I bought a modified stock exhaust that had the cat removed and the bike ran no better, but this was before the Athena install.

Overall the 290 kit has more power across the power band as described.
The mid to top range hit is very noticeable. I'm always surprised and pleased how more quickly it revs.
Downside is, the motor has more vibes felt through the handlebars and pegs, which to me is annoying. I've quelled it pretty well with the combination Progrips and HDB anti-vibe inserts . the FLEXX bars don't hurt either. I've used bar-end weights as well, but the grips and inserts do the trick. (arthritic hands easily go numb!)
The pegs don't bother me.
Only other nit pick is the Athena FI seems to take a few minutes for the bike to warm up and begin fueling correctly. Starts right up but likes to get 'settled'.

I'm going to test the FMF Q4 and controller next for a comparo.
We set up my buddy's stock (except foam airfilter) WR with the FMF exhaust and FI and it ran great!
But still, the WR250X/R pulls away from him...
