They have a u shape that locks the tongue in. Small flat tip to pry the u part open will allow the lock to be pulled out.

Cheap Tube for Rear Rack

Well I have one of those small rear racks that I picked up off of eBay and generally find it pretty useless when it comes to tying things down due to its unique shape. However it is pretty handy to bolt brackets to and mount other stuff.

So this weekend I was out at Holly Springs National Forest doing a shakedown ride for our upcoming CO / UT ride at the end of July. I noticed that when I attached my Nomad loop bag I had some extra room at the back of the rack and an idea formed.

I found this piece of scrap in my 'Scrap Adoption' pile and bolted it onto the rack with some M6 button head cap screws and locknuts:

Then mounted up a piece of scrap PVC:

Got some Krylon Fusion blue paint that comes pretty close to the Yamaha blue so I will paint it up and do the final mounting.

i am a huge 'fan of the blue' but in this case, the rev happy/not much grunt down low motor is not ideal, imho.
i think you did about as well as i would have on mine.
thanks for posting it all!

Thanks, I'll probably end up riding orange sometime soon if I keep doing these dual sport rides which I'm currently addicted to. ;)

I have no plans on getting rid of my WRR if I do though!!!

I decided to buy a set of MT43's for my Colorado trip here in a couple of weeks. I'll let you guys know how they hold up. I shredded a slightly used Dunlop MX51 the last time I was out there in a weeks time.

Brought it home today

Thanks for the help above. I brought my new to me WRR home today Now, the real noob questions will be posted

2008, with lots of mods. 2K miles. The bike looks like it was never ridden

"Custom" skid plate from a plastic cutting board

Now, I need to decide on luggage. Probably stick with wolfman racks to use my Monarch Pass bags but I really want to keep the weight down as much as possible. The racks are an awesome design, but maybe a rackless bag of some sort would be better??

Can't wait to get out on it.

Nice graphics....same here. Little worse for wear after riding the tight trails. Looked nice when new though.

Correction: I got the programmer from another member here, not you Tony. I am getting old.

Definitely BETTER than NEW!! Mine is totally stock and it doesn't even have hand guards. My original stock tires suck too. Those tires on yours look great. What are they?
