US and Aus octane ratings are different I believe.

I only use 98 ... or 95 if that's the best I can get.

... though I just filled up and either i've got a leak or someone's stolen some from my tank. Seriously, only got 200km on a full safari tank

Has anyone here done this swap??? Seems like quite a savings over an OEM pump. Just wonder how difficult it was and if there were any issues after the install.

Safari Tank

Ok well started life as a 10' X and has now morphed into a long distance R. Just put the Safari Tank on the other day.

That's a great looking bike

Are you going to do something about that seat, or are you just WAY tougher than me?

I use whatever I can get. If premium is available then I will for sure use it. I like the 94 octane no ethanol that some Chevrons around here have. It'll run fine on regular, so you could take it around the world, but it will change the spark curve and therefore power output. ( This is an assumption from experience in the auto world) You don't really end up saving any money running reg., but you can.
Truly, YMMV

Where can I find annual production numbers for different makes and models?
As the owner of an '08, I noticed the same thing. I guess you'd have to talk to Yamaha to get actual numbers. Could be they built a lot of bikes to meet initial perceived demand, and that, combined with the downward sales in pretty much every non essential item after the crash in Oct. 2008 led to lower production numbers for subsequent years.

My BMW 650GS sold today, so my 08 WRR is now my one and only bike.

This, of course, calls for a change in plans. The pre-season maintenance I started is now turning into a modification party.

I just ordered the Lynx from Britannia. Ian is a great guy to deal with, and I've been lusting after one of those ever since I saw a WRR with one.

Next, Seat Cooncepts, luggage, and....

My blue subframe is back from the powder guy, so things are finally starting to move.
