The OEM fuel pump is $240 or thereabouts. I also read elsewhere that the 2014 WR250R has a different pump but I couldn't confirm that anywhere.

I'm hoping that this aftermarket option is less prone to failure.

When you say 'around the world' where are you going? The WR250R requires high octane fuel, probably not the best bike to take into 3rd world countries.

Although I am having this issue I wouldn't be so concerned about the fuel pump, the problem is rare, bike is still ride-able (climate depending) and the pump is only $30 at the above link. You'd save that in fuel in a day compared to driving a car....

US and Aus octane ratings are different I believe.

I only use 98 ... or 95 if that's the best I can get.

... though I just filled up and either i've got a leak or someone's stolen some from my tank. Seriously, only got 200km on a full safari tank

Has anyone here done this swap??? Seems like quite a savings over an OEM pump. Just wonder how difficult it was and if there were any issues after the install.

Safari Tank

Ok well started life as a 10' X and has now morphed into a long distance R. Just put the Safari Tank on the other day.

That's a great looking bike

Are you going to do something about that seat, or are you just WAY tougher than me?
