There is a noticeable performance gain with the 280 kit. I have ridden a stock one back-to-back, and you can feel the difference for sure. Having always had 650 singles, I was hesitant to go to a 250, but so far I am enjoying it.

I re-emailed Tom today to let him know of the brewing interest for his racks. I understand he is a very busy small biz operator and probably wishes he could clone a couple more Tom's to keep up with demand. Hopefully, a local doner bike arrangement can be made soon and production can begin.

I'm curious about the 280 kit and engine vibration. The smoothness of the engine is one of the things I like about the WRR. Did you notice any additional engine vibes with the TR piston?

No Vibes

I have not felt vibes as a result of the 280 kit. The PO who had the work done told me that he chose the 280 over the alternative 290 because of concerns expressed about vibes from the 290. Others with either kit may have other thoughts to share

Rack - I spoke with Tom today. A super nice guy

My WR is not exactly stock, and Tom wants a stock WR to make sure that his rack will fit both stock and modified bikes. So, I'm looking for him to find a stock WRR in or near NEK.

Guys, if you know someone out that way, make some calls, push some buttons, send some PMs. The WR needs a bulletproof rack!

Thanks. My same concerns. Don't see too many 280 kit reviews. Thanks for posting and have a blast on your new to you scoot.

This thread needs more crashes!

This was a slo-mo crash ... off the stand. And a reminder to me that I'd already taken the front wheel off

Only a slight bend on the right peg fortunately.

I pulled my WR in the house the other day to grease the swingarm bushings and replace the plastics. After several days and cleaning up I found this on the floor.

I removed the EXUP and the AIS... I just can't seem to remember where on earth this nut came from. Usually when I take something apart I put all the fasteners back where they came from so I don't have to look for them later. This nut is a mystery!

... a clue?

Almost a 'square' engine, similar size bore to WR250R.

Quite a few of them left in Tassie.

(sorry for the drift here)

Question

Could be an extra nut dropped in/on the bike previously and not found, but dropped to the floor when disassembling....
