Aldi generally just do 100% swap for the warranty period (12 months?)
After that it is throw away time. Usage support, forget it. Map upgrades, what ? If you factor in these then it may still be a good deal for you. Check out how easy it is to use before you buy. If you have to ask more than 3 questions then it isn't. See above about support. I sell and support GPS I don't sell fridges or groceries . |

Here is the thing though.. If its just a unit for the wifes car or for the bike to get around.. @ $180 I'd still be ahead after 2 years if I had to buy another in 13 mnths time.. but they wouldn't have any for sale though I suppose.. also - there are a lot of people out there who just want one to tell their mates they have one.. FFS - I see the things on in peoples cars dropping the kids at school and going to work.. What ?? you dont know where the school and work is ??? it's just another "must have" accessory and they'll sell out of these in a few days I reckon As a side note.. we've had a Tevion Aldi tele in the bedroom for about 3.5 yrs now.. till works

So did anyone get one? ... or did you all get lost trying to find your way to Aldi without a GPS
on a more serious note ... one of the women at work here got her car broken into ... smashed side window, when she reported it to the insurance company they asked her if she had a GPS mount on her windscreen (she did but had left the GPS at home) apparently thieves target the cars with the GPS mounts as they can offload the GPS's quite easily, and even removing the mount isn't enough if the tell tale round sucker mark is still on the windscreen!

Aldi sems to cycle the goods on a yearly basis .. so I'd expect the GPS thingy to come again in about 1 years time .. same for there motorcycle clothing ..
The GPS theft thing was on the TV last night .. or recently at least. With the price of the Aldi unit being so low the price of one ripped off will also be low .. so like car radios .. if they are cheap enough new people won't bother buying the doggy ones .. so thefts will reduce.. I hope. |

Mine does not seem to want to accept the Activation Key you have to get off the net. Is anyone having that sort of problem? Other than that they seem to be ok. Small enough to go into the map pocket of the tank bag and good enough to use in the car the few times I need one.

Be careful to determine if you have to put in a letter or a number
eg... A 1 (one) and an l (L) will look the same, have a real good look at the code to see if anumber and a letter can be mixed up. I dont believe you will get 3 numbers or letters in a row!

Mine did and they refunded the money but it was only a couple of months old at the time. Give it to Rod to play with. They should be due out for sale again around July or August.
I might have those e mails from Rod if you want me to send them to you about reprogramming them.
