the build is over on the Versys forum-

http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...ead.php?t=5480

you can F/F through the ride report. should be on the road in a couple weeks.

weight? not sure, maybe 425. it's hard to get the weight out of these with the motor at 120# alone.

i'm liking that 19" front.

Awesome!!! I'm keeping my ear to the ground for a Banshee engine for a chopper project.

The headlight is not complete.
I just ordered another bracket for fairing.
I have another gas tank with the brakets removed that needs a little more work.
Lower front fender mud guard is not in place.
Mirrors not in place.
My shinko 705 tires are not on yet.
Engine guard
Paint
inspection sticker

And spending my 20's as an unemployed rock star (The rock star bit is debatable... OK a flat out lie) I bought the bikes I could afford, and tried to make them into the bikes I wanted.

And I ended up getting the same questions over and over again when ever anyone would see my bikes, "Why did you do that for" "why didn't you just by (insert bike name here) to begin with and be done with it" "If you sold all your old bikes, you could buy on good bike"... and so it goes on.

And then there is the people who won't buy a certain bike because it hasn't got wide variety of after market crap for it... Just buy one, and make the crap that you want on the bike, by modifying crap from other bikes.

Anyway, I'm of to book my ZZR250 in for a roaworthy so I can finally start fitting the KLX suspension on it...
We Aussie tinkerers are a misunderstood breed alright

DrJoe's DR500 Twin is great!

Love tREV's builds, especially the RZ350 Dirtbike

My effort is a CB400/4 and converting it into a XR460 Four. Build thread: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=497905

I have about 12 days to finish the bike for a fundraiser, but I will continue to develop it further. This is about the current status as I await the swing arm's return from being extended 100mm, which will now be tomorrow.

You'll be amazed at the lack of faith in my project from Australians no offense to any Australians reading this but back in the uk building odd ball bikes seems to be a bit more popular where as here in oz the thinking is unless it can be bought off the shelf there is no point.

They all must have to much money and not enough time.

any way the project is geting in to the anoying detail stage of things like exhausts and footpegs and its giving me the shits.
nah mate its the Mentality of this is what you have use it or HTFU

Old & ugly but it works, double as an Enduro ride when stripped down!
