Wow! Seriously! What a cool conversion! Might want to get a little protection down under the engine though.. 2 cents.

Nice work Muddy, I've always wanted to do that to a K75.

The 919 Transalp Project

Ok, I have a little progress to report. I raised the front ride height 38mm, as much as I dare go with the stock fork, raised the rear almost 2" while changing the shock angle which softened the ride a bit, added dirt bike bars and rerouted and stretched every millimeter out of the existing cables and threw on a set of D616 semi-dualsport rubber. Hey, it's a start.

. . . . . more to come.

I really Like this thread, I have subscribed to it and when I get the email notifications I look forward to seeing what warped and twisted ADVrider's are up too, however can I make one observation?

Take the a few posts in the current page #61 to make a point

There is a K75S thats been converted to Dual Sport K75GS. Lots of work and effort. Brilliant Job and well executed.

Then there are Road bikes with just tyres changed to say Dunlop 616's

I really appreciate that the riders ride inapproriate bikes on the dirt with Minimal modifications except for tyres, and it takes more skill to ride this way and say well done

Question is, Is that really a dual sport conversion or is that Dual sport riding a road bike?

Again not meaning to rain on anyone parade.

No rules, mate.

I hear ya. I really enjoy seeing the radical full-on dirt machines in this thread. I was also inspired by the 750 Nighthawk with little more than a set of Distanzia's and some hard cases. I had already done something similar with my 600 Bandit. The inspiration for my 919 project was the 1050 Tiger which is not much of a dirt machine either. Consider it a work in progress. I just spent the last week trying to stretch every millimeter out of the suspension and cables. Stay tuned.

Just showing a tire swap seems boring to me too.

I'm trying to make a dual sport out of an 1150GS, not sure if it's possible, but it's a lot lighter than when I started.
