The electronic compass seems to work when not tracking back. The weird quirk I get is when the compass is "on" and I am tracking back. I am stopped or walking the pointer swings around erratically. Works fine if the compass is "off". I will have to experiment more but really the electronic compass isn't needed in that situation anyway.
The barometric altimeter is seeming more useful than the e-compass. Not what I expected. Nice to know the compass consumes power also
