If not a dog then it must be a pig. I know caus I've had three and they all lacked a bark. Get it? I love my PC and have been shopping for a garage mate for it that does bark. Maybe a FZ 6 or a baby ninja. Yours is good off road? Mine didn't do so well on the two track going to the mill in Marble Colorado. There aint a more versatile and reliable bike in the universe than a Pacific Coast, just look at poor Cack. Owning a PC is like owning a pickup truck, once you own one you can't do without it. I'm using mine today to pick up a load of wood chips.

I would bet ya buck that it would run on diesel. Not good but it would run. I think it might run on mineral spirits or cheap beer too. Low compression can be a good thing. Hey Carl......been out riding lately? In cutoffs?

The chirp is worse when its cold. When its warm it almost sounds like the blower on a street rod. It scares the heck out of the busa riders. They don't know what's under all that plastic........either do I.

I think mine does that when cold too.

My guess is the exhaust gasket O rings.

Just for fun - here's a pic of a PC800 "scraping tupperware" at the Dragon's tail...

And with a rear CAR TIRE no less!

Who'da thunk it?

If it's local to you and you're intested in it, it'd be worth a look. That's a pretty fair price *IF* it's in good condition. I wouldn't pay that for a project bike.
