Rob, I might be getting you confused. Is there another Swartzwelder who rides dual sport? The FCR is the Fall Colour Ride (or maybe it's the Fall Colour Tour) in Arkansas in a couple of months. Potential attendees are a few blokes from around the MO/KS area, most of whom have been HSTA members at some time in the past. Tom Treischmann, Jim Radcliff, Brandon Kovach, Steve Quinn, John Ladd, and Mike Wirrick....

I might have jumped the gunn, but I assumed you were the same guy. Care to join us? It's a totally different experience from your neck of the woods.

Met a ST1300 rider from the HSTA. Thought he was from St. Louis as well. Still can recall his name, Gary Bledsoe. Is he still around?

Yeah, there is another one, my brother, Bill Swartzwelder, he is wswartzwel here, and lives in AR. I grew up in AR but live in AZ now.

Hey Dave..... How the hell are you!!!!! Lat time i saw you was in a blizzard after one of our January Campouts.... And you had to ride your ST1100 from Cass, AR back to St. Louis!!! Radcliff told me you had a quiver full of kids now days... bswartz (at) conwaycorp.net

I was just about to fire off an email to Rob asking if the Swartzwelder dude in AR used to ride a Superhawk and hang out with Det and Turner !!!! That ride in the snow was a good one. Adventure touring on a fully faired sport tourer

Things are going well (if you consider a mortgage, car payments, 3 boys, and a busy job as "going well" ). I haven't done many miles over the past 5 years since No 2 came along, and it really slowed to a trickle with No 3, but things are starting to look up as the boys get a little older.

I'm working on a hall pass for the weekend before Halloween for this possible DS Fall Colour Tour. I'll keep you posted mate.

Yes, Gary is still here. The HSTA (or MSTA, as it is now called) guys meet most Saturday mornings at a gas station near 6 Flags amusement park on I-44 just outside STL for a 200 mile ride.

Anyone know how to adjust the headlight on the X Challenge.
My low light is high and the bright points at the top of the trees. Looks like it is probably a one point adjustment but want to know if anyone knows how to adjust before i tear into the whole front end.

One screw on each side. Loosen them,adjust headlight with hand, tighten screws. Open throttle and hang on!

I ride more dirt than street with the xchallenge. Seems like everytime I stop and turn the bike off and then I turn it back on, I forget to disable the abs.

Is there a way to turn off the abs or maybe set the default to off when starting?

pull the fuse, I hate ABS as I ride 75-90% in the dirt, and I kept forgetting also, after a couple good scares I just pulled the fuse, I put a small piece of tape over the red light.

I've seen KTM guys put a spacer on the bolt that holds each ABS sensor so it is farther away from the sensor ring and this disables it also they say. I need to try something myself, just did all the passes around Ouray / Telluride, CO (yes even Black Bear) and I was *SO* careful to turn off the ABS and always looking at the light, but it is a pain to stress about it!

What else is on this fuse circuit that has the ABS? Nothing (don't have the manual handy).
