Now I've had a closer look at your high image photo it is the wire which is fine. BMW has confirmed the wire is ok not the TT

Just make sure and get BMW confirm the front fender is OK with the holes

TT radiator guard too hot?

Gents I bought my X-challenge used only 2k on the odo with extended warranty. It came with the TT radiator guard installed. On the one trail ride I have done so far I did noticed my fan on most of the time. Having never owned or rode one of these bikes i cant tell if thats normal.

So am I reading this all right? TT radiator guard will cause the bike to over heat and void the warranty?

Question Cost of first service?

All,

I just bought the last of the "new" X-Challenges from Max last week. My dealer is quoting $244 for the first service. What did you pay or did you just get an oil change at 600 miles and call it a day?

Thanks,
Happycamper

I think I paid about that. But I also had them do the State Inspection (req'd here) and they replaced the brake fluid. They essentially combined the 600 mile and 1 year services. My bike was also from MaxBMW. I wasn't sure I was going to have them replace the brake fluid since the bike was just sitting. But the new fluid actually is noticeably clearer.

Make sure it gets the new Yuasa battery while it is in for service.

Thanks for the response. They told me it already had the battery replaced. I am just looking to conserve funds at this point given I was not planning on a new bike this year, but I really wanted an abs X-Challenge at at the price I could not resist.

Mine apparently had the battery replaced replaced 2x before I even bought it new from MaxBMW. The question is whether it got replaced with another Exide or the Yuasa. The new Yuasa battery "campaign" just came out about 2 or 3 weeks ago. They didn't have the Yuasa in stock when I had my service done. I wasn't too concerned . . .until the battery died on the way home 20 miles from nowhere. I think Exide is generally considered a good battery brand, but the one they put in our X bikes definitely has failure issues. Don't find out the hard way.

By the way, I pretty much bought mine for the same reason. It's hard to pass up @ $5995. (Even when you're stranded on the side of the road in 90 degree heat)

Is it possible you or toofast4u could provide a schematic for that mounting piece? It looks real good that ktm fender, way better than the original one imho.

Hello,

I have G650X with ABS and I usually ride off road. So I need to turn off ABS every time I start the engine. Is there any other option to swith off ABS? (for example, for all day, while I'm off road).

Thanks

I wish, I'd even pay money for a kit.
