Have you done LR with your KLR before?

It's been pretty dry so it shouldn't be very muddy. You may hit some slick spots, you may not. As others have said, let the fast guys by and let the fast & dumb ones stack up behind you. When you get tired, call it a day. What's the worst that could happen? It's not like you're playing basketball for Louisville or anything........
Yeah, whenever I've gone into anything thinking "what's the worst that could happen" it hasn't usually turned out all that well.

As a club member who's been trying to promote this ride, I feel it's my duty to tell the truth, I don't wanna see anybody get hurt or leave pissed off at the club or myself.

2 years ago at Brush Popper's dual sport in Morrison, there were 2 older guys packing up thier new DR650's early, they were mad as hell, thier comments were " Who the fuck said this was a dual sport ride, this is brutal, we got stuck so many times, we said fuck it and took the road back to the pits and we'll never be back.

This is what I don't want to happen, so don't say I didn't warn you, this is a hard core trail ride with a little bit of dual sport mixed in it, if your a noob, don't have knobbies and your out of shape, this ride might not be your cup of tea.

And Bart, try out the Kettle Morain Dual Sport Ride, it's right up your alley, good luck.
I'm not the kind of guy to get pissed off at other people because I didn't have the right skillset to do something. But I am a n00b, have no interest in knobbing up for what at best would be a two- or three-times a year thing, and am not in the best shape. Sounds like I'd be tossing $30 in to just be frustrated, and as much fun as I'm sure you all are I'm not much interested in sitting around the pits. Guess I'm just not a real man.

A couple of good suggestions in there though. Smudge, joining the club and getting some time in at the grounds to actually learn how to do this without a couple hundred people either roosting me or getting pissed behind me sounds like a smart thing. If raw n00bs are welcome as members...

And I'll keep an eye out for a Kettle Moraine date for sure. Less hardcore I assume?

Have at it.
I'm old and not in riding shape.

Looking for DRZ400-SM to test ride around Chicagoland

I was interested in test riding a DRZ400SM if anyone has one around the Chicago or suburb area. I am interested in buying one but cannot find one at any dealer to sit on (im a short guy). Doesn't have to be for sale just looking for someone kind enough to let me test ride it . If anyone has one and is willing PM me please. Thanks.
