I think it depends on your perspective.
This is a motorcycle forum,,, and MY view is that the pic represents a dream ride for many. Awesome scenery with a well-packed bike representing a journey vs. a day ride.
On a photography forum,,, your points have some validity.
I think it all depends which 'eye' you're viewing the photo with.

I'm jealous from both sides,,,, wish I could be on that ride,,, and take a photo that nice to remember it by.

if you look at the photos in the current front page rotation, they mostly satisfy BOTH criteria. There are a whole lot of very talented photographers on this forum who travel by motorcycle...

We agree on one thing at least,,, there are a lot of talented photogs who travel on bikes.
And to many of the folks on here,,, the discussed photo satisfies BOTH criteria also. And the one in question deserves to be there also.
