Hi all,
I've been following this great forum for a while and most impressed by all the nice trips and stories. So I decided to sign up too... finally. This is my first post here. Just doing it here cause I have no idea where new ones have to present themselves... I'm riding a 2004 BMW RT 1150 for 17 months now and doing around 47.000 kms a year. Not the typical bike for a guy who's 28 but still exactly what I need for my daily 140 kms -commute in our great Belgian weather. Since I believe my consumables and mods are useful to share too, here we go: - Cee Baileys larger windscreen (yes, great American stuff) - Cee Baileys bags (OEM to expensive) - Wunderlich Crashbars - GIVI topcase (for the holidays) - handlebar risers (cause I'm a tall gay) - Garmin 2610 GPS - DIY Xenon headlight (to blow blind car drivers away and improve nightly rides) - my boots are BMW, gear Hein Gericke and helmet Arai. ( - original battery is replaced by an Odyssey - favourite tyres are Metzeler Z6 (Bridgestone BT020 comes second) What's else interesting? - Started riding on a '96 VFR750 a few years ago. - Car drivers: I've been hit two times by 'sorry I didn't see you' last year while commuting..Before getting banned for going off-topic.. I'm posting some pictures to make you all happy... ![]() Little break during a 5.500km trip in sept 2005. Col du Galibier (French Alps) ![]() View downhill while riding the Col d'Allos. Same trip. ![]() December 2005: British bikers crossing Africa on real stuff. I met them when I as on holiday in Sierra Leone. I wonder where they are now. ![]() Picture of one of my mates -in full action- during our bike holiday last year. The GS1150 still is great stuff. Place to be for this fun: Verdon Region around Castellane in the South of France. ![]() Heavily loaded Yamaha 50cc Adventure... Seen in Sri Lanka, a few weeks ago. Thanks to Advrider I signed up a few years ago to Smugmug. Photography and biking go hand in hand. Of course I tested other BMW's too... you'll find lots of bikes, technical pics and travel pics on my http://xa4.smugmug.com/ Currently I'm working on my sh*tty FID ![]() regards, Xavier |

I just noticed the snow lining his rims... ![]() PS -- Xavier, nice pics. That KTM in Africa is the ugliest/most beautiful one I've ever seen. Ratty, but being put to the best use possible.

I stole this picture from KTM's press page, but it really should go up tomorrow without being rotated as recognition of what Chris did and to thank Gidget for all her posting during the Dakar.
