almost right

Something as burly as that could ditch the stoopid sidecar and be awesome with a single wheel trailer!

...even if my XR could do More Better at anything in strike range. Seriously, a V-twin w that low of a gearing?! I'get got a rottotiller motor that would be lighter and just as effective.

I want one to haul my granny! (But w the single wheel trailer option since she is super fat! V twin would probably be needed!)

I couldn't stand it any longer today, knowing this will likely be the warmest day we'll see until sometime next spring. Bailed early on work, and headed to the closest desert to me....Promontory Point area.

Wound up at the Spiral Jetty on the north shores of the Great Salt Lake. The jetty itself is less than impressive, but the views were great!

Thought the road dead-ended at the jetty, but found a little ATV two-track heading out of the corner of the parking area:

Some cool little pools of water on the shoreline:

Just when I thought I was in the middle of nowhere, I saw some trucks parked near the shoreline. I came around the corner and first saw what looked like a shanty town:

Turns out it was a camp for workers from the Great Salt Lake Brine Shrimp company. Wow....what an "interesting" life that must be.

Despite what was a warm afternoon, temperatures were dropping quickly as well as the sun. Loved the long shadows as I head back towards the Golden Spike visitors center and back home.

Headed to Green River for some real dirt-biking after Thanksgiving, but it's always great to get out on the big-bike before the real snow flies.

Happy Thanksgiving Utards!

Yep....I almost sent you a PM to ask if that was you. I was heading west, you were coming east in Corinne. Small world sometimes :) Glad to see you out and about.

Turkey Day Testing

Gone to visit my son Jess & his wife in Reno for turkey day. Had to check out the Cold Spring / Stead area (NW edge of Reno near Stead). His house borders Peavine so this is his backyard.

We climbed up thru the typical desert trails to near the top of Peavine. Much wind on top. White stuff on the road in all the shade...

Jess had discovered a grove of ponderosas on a previous ride so we headed down to them...

Totally different environment in the trees...

Lots of nice trails. The white stuff added to the excitement...

Nice area. Needs more exploration...

Just enough riding to work up an appetite for turkey!
