Oh, and while access across the bombing range on the dirt road to Lakeside is legal... be careful out there and stay out of the other restricted areas. All it takes is one trigger happy F16 pilot to really ruin your day.

This happened on the UTTR range several years ago now, the F16 pilot was several miles off his intended target but this one looked pretty fun too eh? Amazingly both of the gentleman in the Suburban survived.
Just read the reports on that at F-16.net.

Major Erickson may have more than 800 flying hours, but to miss your laser-lit target and hit something else 2.5 miles away is a tad worrying!

That should be a Chevy add. To take a hit like that and, I assume, drive off.

Even a KLR would have lost the milk crate or something.

Stock used SE is maybe worth 8k.

I may be Honda-centric, but these lovelies have always been referred to as "Red-Heads", so I'm not too sure how to judge this, other than these preciousnesses have never claimed KTM in our diverse culture... Red Head sounds hot. Orange head? not so much. Then again, some of us can kick it once to light it up, while others require auxiliary power sources to light something that obviously is already awake and only needs a bit of a bit of a bump to get it rolling. sorry... just thinking out loud here...

Spoken like a true hater.

By the time I sold the BRP, I was first-kickin' it in flip flops. I showed the new owner the sequence (secret handshake), and he kicked, and kicked, and kicked...He finally asked me to start it for him again so he could ride it home. I kicked it over first time in flip flops...again.

That being said, I rode Ryman's 690. It was while riding that bitch that I decided to sell the BRP. There is no comparison. A big bore thumper that feels like I'm riding my 300XC, with lots more power. I may not get one (that $9K price tag is scary), but unless Honda/Suzuki/Kawasaki give up their devotion to motocross, and give us back a sub-300 lb big-bore thumper, then KTM/Hoosabitch/Husq are the only options for updated brappers. Even Yamaha's WR series is limited to 100-mile enduros before valve checks.

One other thing - I have owned Suzuki, Honda, KTM and BMW. The service one gets at the Japanese dealers is at best marginal. And although there are exceptions, for the most part, the European dealerships have been much more knowledgeable about their product and their mechanics are professionals - not some kid who couldn't get a job as a real mechanic, so he's working at a bike shop in the interim.

The reason many of us drink the Kool Aid has nothing to do with magic buttons. It's like saying we are lazy because we ski/board with metal edges. Some things are just better.

I'll be in SL,UT next week. I am having surgery on my tennis elbow - too much Toxic Brittany I guess. Anyway, what do you guys say we meet up for some Dim Sum?
