What are other Utards doing for good hard long wearing knobby for moto/ADV style riding that work OK on the street (ie can corner OK, stop OK), but do not necessarily have to be DOT. Basically, are there other options besides the Maxxis Desert IT that also work pretty well in terms of doing a good job but also lasting? Dunlop 606 is definitely out in my book. I have a Bridgestone Gritty ED78 on my bike right now and I know that those work pretty well. Can someone comment on those and/or any other tires that work pretty well?

thanks

I kept up w/ street tires on 606's, but I am feeble in the dirt. I'd be interested in why you don't like 'em. I like them cuz they're trendy!

A short burst to West Mountain Sunday and I found a little snow and mud. Had a beer, shot the can, livin large.

What bike?

It's pretty hard to beat a ed78 rear for a small bore in terms of durability. They don't grip super well but they are predictable and last a really long time. And you barely have to run air in them.

If you want more grip then a 739 is good but expensive and don't last near as long.
