Just wear too quick I think... My bike also seems to go through rear tires like crazy, more so than my XR oddly enough.. I went through 3/4s of a Dunlop 952s in about 400 miles... Looking for something that lasts a little longer ideally but equally as capable/durable...

Juiced up KTM 510cc probably around 55hp I figure...

I have a ED78 on it now and I don't mind it too much. I think I'm going to order another one and a Maxxis IT Desert for the front...

It's pretty hard to beat a ed78 rear for a small bore in terms of durability. They don't grip super well but they are predictable and last a really long time. And you barely have to run air in them.

If you want more grip then a 739 is good but expensive and don't last near as long.

When Kevin and I did our 2000 mile loop last year, we both started with fresh tires. He had Dunlop 606, I had Maxxis IT. My rear tire looked better than his at the end of the loop. Cheaper tire, more robust it would seem. I'll never buy a 606 again. Waste of money.

How do you get a KLR ready for the next ride? Put more gas in it.

That was about the same as my 606 after the last trip with you guys too. You were about 40-50% done and i was about 70%... I have three of these tires with only 25% left on them, I imagine I'll use them up someday..

I'm surprised you weren't struck by lightning, doing all that stuff on the Lord's day and all. . .

Muhuhahahaha

That's awesome.

If I ever bump into the Lord, I bet he's wearing a BMW shirt that reads, "Huh, I didn't know they made cars . . . "

Trackhead and I ran across this guy in Colorado (or a guy who looked just like him), had all the wolfman stuff and the kitchen sink... It's still such a funny memory. He was fat as shit, looked all off roady but clearly was just cruising county dirt roads, and definitely had spent way too much lurking on this board buying all the gear... trackhead was having a tough time taking him seriously especially with that underpowered bike and the thing lowriding... :)

Just throwin' it out there.. :)

Secretly I do have a soft spot for old beat up KLRs though and honestly I'd love to have one especially for shit-kicking around Park City and fire roads & such...

Hey asshole that is me.

Coming back from Copper Canyon. I had left the side bags in Creel on the gas shot.

So what if you are right on the underpowered poser shit. A guy still has feelings.
And I've always tried to respect others feelings on this thread.

Well, maybe not so much if you have a brand I don't.
