Anyone want to hang out this Thursday night at my place, work on bikes and just BS? All are welcome. Let me know if you want to come over and I'll PM my address. I'm guessing about 8:00.
Will there be pie?

Thats mangina to you. This place is very fun . I normally don't care for desert. Mix in some ocean
and twisties and it's a new game. All shits and giggles so far.

I'm sitting with Walrus and Sean Dillion. Met him here. He is riding a Honda cub 90. Shipped in from Ireland
Been to the Artic Circle and riding to Argentina. Has a ride report under Hondavstheworld.com. Also a ADV rr.

Really a nice guy.

I guess a RR will be in order to use these photos. Big grins.

Question -- anyone have an old 43mm fork bullet and seal driver lying around I can borrow and/or they may want to sell? 43mm is pretty rare these days, thought I'd ask before I drop some $$ on these...

Use electrical tape to cover the ridges when putting the seal on and a piece of PVC cut in half as the driver.

Yes, that can work well just be patient and work around the seal as you tap it in.

Anybody seen the Nomad Rider horseshoe style (like Giant Loop) bags? How are they?
I think from an outfit in Lehi??

As Frog mentioned, a piece of PVC cut vertically works pretty well. You can either hold it together with your hand, or throw a couple of zip ties around it while you carefully work the seal back in.

Great to know... I know it sounds cheap but I'm not sure I want to spend $50 investing in tools for these forks as I always consider selling it in favor of a newer one because it's an old-ass '02, but it's totally dialed, has all the bling and options, and runs great with a fresh engine rebuild so it's a little hard to sell it.

How often are you guys changing out your seals anyway?

The oil in there was dark and dirty so I'm glad I changed it out. Spent maybe 20 minutes watching youtube videos and managed to change the springs and oil in maybe 40 minutes, pretty easy all in all, easier than a mountain bike.

With mountain bikes i finally just replaced my seals for the first time in years, probably on 3 rounds of oil so far though. You start feeling when the forks start sticking which = dirty oil, and then inspect the seals. Some people replace them every time, others don't. Amazing how much crossover there is between MTB and motos.
