Bmx

Went to watch BMX in Farmington tonight and my six year old decided she wanted to ride. We brought her bike and she practiced but another dad offered his sons racing BMX bike. She practiced on it a couple of times and used it for the first qualifier. The results weren't spectacular, but she picked herself up twice and insisted on racing the second qualifier. I'm the big dork dressed up like Big Bird.

She switched back to the cruiser but her mechanic should be fired. She finished, got a trophy and would not stop talking about it on the way home.

Anyone know anything about BMX racing bikes? I know nothing about them.

Fun evening. We were pleasantly surprised and the people were crazy nice and friendly. Cool crowd.

Get her on a race spec 20 inch bike until she gets taller and stronger. 300 to 600 will get you a bike that should last until she WANTS a new one. Let me know if you need any more advice. I raced bmx, mtb, and dh up until I was 28.

Sorry I was at the neighbors birthday party.

16 inch huh? That's sounds a little hard to swallow.

Change of subject

...for those of you with a gag reflex, Harcus and I rode some stuff nearby (to be UnNamed, but we'd take you there) that wasn't gag worthy, but did have a pucker factor for the conditions. Here's Harcus off the Sad Side of the trail (Trackhead taught me "sad side" and i love it) I guess we've now proven what those KtM's are worth!

It wasn't all sad though.

Anyone here have any advice on getting a real world cost estimate on a garage being built?
It requires some excavating into a hill and attaching it to the existing house/garage.
So far I have only liked one house, but most all of them we have seen have garages about a few feet too short. I would have to air down tires just to drive into them. Forget about jacking anything up once in them. What happened here in the seventies that garages got so short? :lol

Strap those bad boys to the front bumper, do a little removal of misc junk for ground clearance (like unbolt those front steps - easy), some slightly meatier tires, and then I figured I'd be good to go. About as close to a Dakar truck as I'd ever get...

This is definitely me thinking aloud. I nkow that Kurt W when he sees this is going to think this whole idea is nuts.. . I guess thinking and/or dreaming aloud.. :)

Here she is from the test drive yesterday:
Man, I had this same plan a while back, and my wife put the kabosh to it. After the school bus fiasco, I figured I was lucky to squeeze in a van to work on and use as a mini RV.
Still, every Fuso I see is in my mind a great platform for a moto RV/ski climb ride bum truck.
Someday...

8,000ft above Moab last night.

Our casa, and what my KTM morphed into this winter.

Feeling a little outta place.

Next time through I'll probably be back on the moto, but it's nice to leave the shitshow that is Moab and head to the mountains above.

Yep. I went out looking for Bin Laden in the west desert a while back, but I couldn't find him.

i've been looking into it for a while with our new house. There are some very cheap vendors that build garages complete with concrete and all work on KSL, about $10-12G for a decent 2 car garage building it seems...
