Forgive me, but I was laying low in Utards because of, well, you know . . .

I'm hoping to take some backroads to Vegas this weekend (WED-SAT) unless my plans fall through. If they do, it'll be next weekend if any of you want to go--inc Rick.

No I don't know. Did I miss something???

After Kev and Ryan's little lesson in dirt abuse I may be switching over to water for a while.
It's that time of year when Bear Lake and the hills behind it call my name.

I just got off the phone with my daughter. She passed the riders course two weekends ago
and wants to take a bike out. I hate these parental crossroads. I told my daughter and
daughter in-law they could only use the stuff if they took the course. I even said I would pay
thinking they would never actually do it......well, careful what you offer. I bought the daughter
in law a Honda Reflex last week to get her eased into traffic. My son said that's all she rides now.
I gave him the SV650 to ride with her. Now my daughter wants the other SV.
I hate the thought that if they got hurt I would feel the blame. I also can't be a hypocrite and not
let them ride.

Ahhhggghhhhh.

Pull the string out and let's ride from SLC to Morgan for lunch, then back to SLC for a fond farewell.

Or, ride the backroads to Las Vegas this weekend with me alone.

I have never denied the KTM advantage, I just don't like the potential of this
on my weekends.

You could just drop it at the shop and ride one of other 30 bikes you have :)

Why I outta.....

Anyway as I recall I left off with restraining order be damned Ryman dumpster diving with the locals.
From there we were heading to the shore of Lake Powell.

To get to the camp site all you have to do is beat sand mountain. To show the Tenere how easy
it is Kev gave a simple demonstration. I had stopped and forgot to turn the traction control off.
Half way up I need power that the TC says "nope". Stopped mid hill, turned the TC off and the
Beast continued on. Kinda to my surprise.

Sand that even made the Tenere Teasers nervous had us camp just off shore. It was fine because
the bank would have been a weird sleeping angle.

If you look between the bikes you will see this....
I knew I was the odd man out the whole ride.

We enjoyed a scenic evening bath in the lake.

I had no idea the boys had worked themselves into a frenzy over the thought of fresh clean meat.

One display of who they were messing with put an end to their plans.

I had a picture of what desperate men they had become but Kevin, in complete disrespect of the
don't mess with a mans memory stick rule, deleted the R rated photo. It would have made perfectly
clear what we have suspected all along.

Okay, for whatever reason my photos got loaded on the computer out of order
and some seem missingI don't have the time to dick with it.

Not that anyone would really want to see it anyway, Ryan woke up quite sick.
No wheelies, no shit flipping he was a green little puppy. Picture this,
we think because of this .

Heading to the mesa switchbacks

On top

A thing of beauty and a joy forever.... oh yeah, there's Lake Powell and some scenery too.

Utbdr

Tomorrow a small group of us are headed to the Overland Expo event at Mormon Lake, AZ. The plan is to ride the UTBDR from Strawberry (meeting in PC) to the AZ border. We have a mix of 800GS and KTM 990's. Has anyone rode this section, if so how long did it take?
