It will float just fine but the planing speed is just a lot higher then I think anyone would want to ride that thing. Maybe you need those tires they put on fat cats.

I met with Ryan at Green River and headed off to Bryce to meet up with Kevin.
I'm not quite sure but he seems to have an attitude.

I think 500 mile days on a KTM seat tend to do that to you.

Ok, if you insist ... Here's the story.

I had owned and wrenched several KTM dirt bikes. I also owned a Suzuki Vstrom for about a year, and actually used it in the dirt quite a bit. Wrenching and riding the Zook is way different than any dirt bike I've ridden.

Then I got the Adventure. We picked it up in Idaho and rode that day. Immediately on the first dirt ride I noticed it handles far more like a dirt bike than the 'strom did.

Later, I'm finally at home with the 9fiddy in my garage, staring at it for hours (naturally). It's next to the 300 XCW. I look at the 950, look at the 300, comparing ... I notice the 950 has pretty much the same construction as the 300, but bigger.

So I said to the KTM 950 Adventure S, 'You're nothing but a big-ass dirt bike'. And the BADB and I lived happily ever after.

I was there last Thursday for the first time. A cool place to see, but only if "you're in the neighborhood". I would not consider it a destination by any means. It's about 1/100th (or smaller) than Goblin Valley, and smack dab in the middle of countless natural gas mines. You could camp there in the BLM parking lot area if you wanted for a night if it was on the route (basically what we did....but we camped about 10-15 miles further north along the Duchesne River).
