Where's the snow??

UDOT says they're all closed except Wolf Creek. But what is the actual truth? I can share a couple datapoints from this last weekend.

Mirror Lake Highway is open ... probly for a couple weeks already.

I could not get the BADB through Soapstone Pass. (sorry no photos -- and you missed a very interesting mudstuck ). Some other folks were ATVing through it. Maybe I need more ballast.

Here's upper Upper Setting.

Bigass Sandhill crane(?) staying out of the snow.

Near Wolf Cr Summit:

Maybe you'll have to actually ride somewhere else. You know if you go west there are vast tracks of land and other riders.

^^^ what's the "kinsey scale"?

TT, vroom vroom on the horizon... I NEED to go south south east from soldier summit to Price to fill in my bingo card. there is a route that scoots the book cliffs down hwy 6 between Price and Green Riv that I'm dying to do, but it may dead end, but it looks like it drops sick switch backs on google earth. it maybe that you go way out and run out of gas.

I have some video throwing a 90 pound dog up a rock problem in a San Raf slot cyn, but here's a shot of why i decided not to sell my 4hunny, (even if i should)...........................

You could do this route in a Cadillac but it's not as fun as the LADB (light ass dirt bike)

Ryan continues to feel like crap. he can't decide if food will help or not.

We stopped for a bit to let him recoup and see if some trail mix would help.

Kevin came back to see what was going on.

We head to Escalante to find food to see it that will help him get over the bug.
I was just glad this happy little waitress said I looked like her dad instead of grandpa.

Well the food seemed to put Ryan back in the riding mood. We head to Hell's Backbone.
Man the twisties are sooooo good in this area. Mmmmm, mmmm, mmm.

You know Ryan is feeling better if he'll climb up here to yell "I'm King of the World".

It is one of the most scenic areas in Utah.

I think these are out of order again.

Not to whine cause I chose to take a Beast on this ride, but really sometimes I had the
"What an idiot" talk to myself.

Enough whining.

This guy moved for no one.

Off to the Burr Trail. Kevin made it his personal race course.

Ryan saw a mouse or something.

"No officer. That wasn't me doing 50 in a 15 zone. My speedo is broke"

The famed Burr Trail switch backs.

There is a rider down at the bottom.
That's the problem with those damn singles, too small to see.

Oh there he is,,,

Kevin was insistant he won the stare down with this lizard. Hard to tell with the glasses.

It's off to find a suitable camp spot.
I've about had it with this sand to my pegs shit when what do I hear?

Some knat 400 treating it like slab.

"Oh no you go ahead. I'll just wallow around here for a while"

Actually Kevin and Ryan were very good about waiting around for the Old Man and the Beast.

Very private camp spot. Almost erie back in there.

I had no idea Kev was so modest...

Ryan toughed it out with the open air sleeping arrangements.

And not a single shit was given......

I'm still laughing. But perhaps withholding some of the personal information in the future, ok?
