Nice ride, Harc-ster. WishICoulda.

As you said, the 990 has some freeway and cargo hauling advantages, but nothing that ` 200 fewer pounds of weight wouldn't ... .... outweigh.

Still, I kinda like my BADB. I rode it 500 miles this weekend, including the haul-ass blasts to/ from Preston.

I think Ryman would have traded places with you during that hail n rain storm.

But he did give a good tour of the area, even as a popsickle...

I've changed dirt bike tires galore, so what up w/ my strom? same concept only w/ dynabeads? tubeless what? anyone do this themselves and want to coach me? : ) !

In my limited experience changing street tires, you want them dynamically balanced since speeds are usually a lot more than on dirt bikes. Wobbles, shakes, very uneven wear, etc.

Changing is no different than a dirt bike tire...spoon em off, spoon em on. Lube is good.

I static balance mine, works like a charm. My balancer is home grown but HF sells one that works well. They have the weights too. You can be every bit as accurate as the dynamic balancer just a little slower.

I've had issues at triple digit speeds with static balanced tires... Just my experience.

Maybe they weren't done correctly? Maybe a weight fell off? Tires wear. Just because something is in balance once, doesn't mean that it still is 5000 miles later. All I ever do is static balance. Works fines for double and triple digits.

Depending how anal you are about the rim paint you might want to put a tie down strap
or other nylon strap between the tire iron and the rim as protection.

Bike is together. Anyone want to go riding tomorrow? If not, can anyone give me a trailhead to start at? Looking to stay off pavement at all costs. SIngle track would be sweet.

Well, there's the diff. Even on my ST1300, I rarely see triple digits. Does a Wee Strom do triple digits? Just curious...
