Phil....a TTR 125 has bigger wheels than a KLX110. If you're going for a KLX, I would go for the newer ones that came with electric start, otherwise I would look for a TTR 110. When Yamaha stopped making the TTR90, they switched it to a TTR110. The Yamaha's have always had electric start and it was great for the little kids.

Pushing the happy button makes for a happy child riding in my experience. The several TTR 90's I owned were the best bikes my boys ever rode.....they beat the crap out of them and they just kept going.

Ok Mike, that helps.

So I need something for little mama to eventually move from the OSET. Electric start is preferred. The specs on the TTR110 look similar to the KLX110. Anyone know if there are important differences between the two?

Fri - Sat Big Bike Dirt

I'm thinking about taking the big bike up to Bear lake about 4 on Fri and working my way south to Strawberry or further depending on how far I get on sat. Camp somewhere along the way. I try to keep a pretty good pace. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Utah rr

I rode the GTL to Utah. I rode a lot of twisty roads. I hooked up with Ryman for some Kokopelli sightings. Now I am riding back to Texas. I am going to ride a lot of twisty roads. RR done.

Hey y'all
Anybody around salt lake have the knowledge and tools to put new seals in a leaky fork tube from a 92' XT225 Yamaha.
I'd love to learn from somebody and would happily buy drinks and dinner.
We can work at your place or mine.

I'd also be willing to pay somebody to do it but would much rather learn how to do it alongside :)
Thanks

Christianbenzon,

Bring it by my place and we'll get the forks squared away. PM me and we'll work out the details.

Anyone want to do a multi-day ride sometime this October? Maybe a big west desert loop? I'll be back in town early October for a couple weeks with no schedule before we head to Arizona for the winter.

I'm riding an ancient XR600R, so I'd like a non-techy west dez loop, maybe three days, two nights, blah, blah.

Then, if anyone wants to do an Arizona loop mid winter, let me know. I'll either be in the Phoenix area, or Palm Springs area all winter.

There is no god skiing in either of those places.

I may be up for the mid-winter thing. Do you have dates lined up?

October would be mid-October.

Winter I won't know until I find my next work assignment in a couple months.

Skiing will occur in the early summer on the PNW volcanoes.

KTM Rally Sept '13 in Steamboat

As all good riders of orange will remember, the 10th annual KTM Adv Rally is in Steamboat from 13 thru 15 September.

Here is the link to the announcement...

http://www.ktmorangeevents.com/EventPage.aspx

This is the typical rally format where you are forced to meet people you may not know, ride with them on trails you may never have seen, attempt to get lost, return to camp hot, dirty & sweaty for an evening of BS, drinks, & steaks, etc. Anyone can attend on any color bike but it is required that you are not offended by the aforementioned behavior.

I have a reserved a campsite with a few extra spaces in the Steamboat campground which is within a few miles of rally central at the Grand. They have showers, etc.

I have also laid out a path to Steamboat along the North Slope weaving into Wyoming to drop into Steamboat with minimal pavement. At least is exists on the topos. We shall see.

Some events like CJRacer's tech clinics start earlier so you may want to arrive earlier & get a head start on the debauchery. I plan to ride over early. My site is reserved for 10 thru 14.

Here is the Adv link...

Let me know if you want to ride along or a tent site. Hope to see you there.

Me! Me! Me!

Although I can't be there early, I can stay late...like a bad party guest, or herpes!

I'll be planning a route through Texas and southern CO.

Check the CoBDR route. It goes directly to Steamboat, starts at Four corners

See the link...

http://www.backcountrydiscoveryroutes.com/COBDR

The gpx files are on that site.

But then, that may take too long on the up trip.

Just another late night herptic lesion confirming the intent to travel along with the harcus'd route. And similar to the Texas lesion, I am free to stay later or wander further........just a matter of which orange bike to torture myself with......
