Well, the weather on both ends was great but Strawberry is still Frozen. Had to stop at the lodge to thaw out my hands. Made it to Honda World early enough they were able to handle the recall that's out on the 500x. Swapped a couple of bolts, easy enough.

At the Puck watching a so far unimpressive game. First round on me if any of y'all can distract me from the carnage.

I know this isn't KTM LC4 maintenance and tips/tricks thread but you guys were great with my plea for help earlier, so heads up, the homebrew and whiskey offer still stands! Because...

...I completely failed at reverse bleeding the clutch tonight. Steps I took with my syringe kit:

- took off the top and gasket of master cylinder
- loosened bleed screw at the bottom after taking off the little oil cap
- attached hose over bleed screw and filled syringe with mineral oil

I could not push the oil into the hose. I yanked on the clutch cable from all sides, felt that it was free and not being pinched, but there is a lot of pressure buildup and I could not get any fluid in. The little I was able to force in with maximum squeezing power is easily dispelled by one pull of the clutch lever.

I don't know what to do at this point. I did not detect any leaks in the cable either. It's a braided line and seems really sturdy. Tragic.

It sounds like like bleeding screw you were trying to push through was not lose enough.

Haven't done the LC4 clutch bleed ...... yet.....but if you pull the clutch in, it will relieve the pressure buildup on my GS. fano's idea seems like a similar approach.....let us know what works cause that's on my list as well.

I'll be in the University area tomorrow afternoon if that's a timeframe for experimenting..........

Try just sucking it through with the syringe while you keep the reservoir full.

Ryman - Sounds like fun. Always excited (and desperate) to meet people I don't work with or are related to everyone in town...you aren't a Slough are you?

Ride today to St. George from Salt Lake went well. 89 had some nice spots but wasn't as exciting as I'd hoped. At least it wasn't crowded. Zion park was visually stunning but bitterly short. I'll have to come back down this way when I figure out this camping/adventure thing everyone is on about. For those of you in the St. George area...you guys better share. I had to stop after Zion and lose a few layers. Send some of this weather north darn it.

Haven't seen it yet. I'm rolling around with the cb500x. It looks adventury but I wouldn't try anything worse than a county road with it.
