The Edge Motorsports is by POM (Point of the Mountain?).

However, they are blood-sucking parasites to whom I would not give a used kleenex, let alone any more of my hard-earned money.

That being said, Wright's Motorcycle is on about 3500 South State and they are great to work with. Just call them first and let them know what you are looking for and they will tell you if they have it.

Or call The Edge, wait on hold for 15 minutes, then talk to some asshat with a bad attitude who will tell you they will order it in for you, but then refuse to call you when it gets there or return your calls when you call to see if it's there.

Anyone interested in an early morning ride at 5-mile?

I was thinking of leaving my house at 6 or 7AM, trailer the SE out there, ride until the idiots show up, then back by early afternoon. I have room on the trailer for one more big bike...or we can just ride all the way out.

Damn, today I could've done it.

Mondays are awesome for avoiding the idiots, no one is out! I'll be hiking tomorrow though.

Question

Does any one want to dirt bike (full-on dirt bikes, not the big ones) on Monday? Both Fano and Frog gave me the ditch this weekend! I'd like to go up to Midway or any where in the hills out of the heat. If not, I'm stuck mountain biking....yuck, save me. PM me if interested.

Why not? If V-Strom can do it(easily), I'm sure a GS can too......

oh wait....I forgot, you GS owners are always scary to scratch those expensive things....

Ditched? Its not my fault you have to work sat and had to miss 120 miles of pure haul ass goodness. Maybe next time you can get the boss to give you the day off. Wait you are the boss. Sounds like you need to have a serious conversation with yourself about priorities

Can't do Monday. But Chad and I are planning to ride JROHV every Tuesday afternoon until the Price race so we can get used to those dirt clods and doubles that motocross guys seem to love.

Dawn Patrol

I left the house at 6:30. When I reached the 5-mile parking lot, it was empty.

I did a 40-mile loop on the south-side of the highway, then went to the North side, only one group in the parking lot, and they were still unloading.

The SE was eating this shit up and I was feeling pretty confident:

I decided to take an uncharted path to a trail I could see in the distance. All was going well until I tried to cross this:

Looks benign enough, right?

Turned out to be a wash that was about 6 feet deep and full of tumbleweeds

The Black Enchantress was not getting out of this. Both sides had 1-2 feet drops of sand where the water had washed away the bank. I got the front tire on top, but the rear just dug a ditch.

The tumbleweeds were so freaking thick that it took me about 10 minutes just to extricate myself from this man-trap.

I finally had to lay her on the side, pull her out of the wash enough that I could stack rocks under the rear tire,

Then I powered my way out:

Those white objects in the foreground are bones...probably from a KLR or VStrom owner.

I decided to get back on the designated trails after this. In all I burned through about 5 gallons of gas today, but some of that was slabbing to and from 5-mile. Sadly, my rear tire is almost shot already.

I was home by 11:30AM

Let's ride Dawn Patrol...Bitches!

RR: SLC to Hwy6 Soldier Summit...

Turned out to be 230 miles from SLC to Hwy6 Soldier Summit and back... 140 dirt, about 11 hours of hard riding on lots of forest road, lots of technical double track, plenty o dangerous single track (don't fall off the low side!) and enough slab to get over BCC then to south of Deer Creek Res...
