Give me a call to the number posted in previous posts for the skinny or if you want to ride any afternoon or evening? I'll be your tour guide. I know the area pretty well. I was riding there last night

Didn't find too much single track the last few times I rode there. Let us know what you come up with. There could be some, but there is a lot of private property in that area as well. Maybe that is where you could find some.

We last rode it early one June.

Still some signs from the winter snow

Ended up riding the entire length north to south as well as the canyon west into Levan and Maple Canyon to the east.

We were mostly on 650 and bigger bikes. Only 1 difficult hill climb that dead ends on the far north of the San Pitch. It beat up my Transalp a little going up it and a couple of other bikes broke some parts. Should be no problem on a smaller bike. Jimmy Lewis was along for the ride and had no problem on his HP2, but then he would have had no problem with anything.

The San Pitch are one of those areas that seem remote just because it doesn't see as many visitors, but not so remote since I-15 and Hwy. 89 both parallel it. It was good to see what I had been eyeing from the interstate for so many years.

Thanks quota^^^^^^

I didn't have time to ride there the other day, but might go down sunday. The maps show some single track, but again, not sure if it's moto legal.

I ride a Honda 250x, so obviously technical challenges are a non-issue. I have a bit of angst right now, and I just want to peg the little 250x against the rev limiter alone in the mountains for a while.

an adventure last night: first the neg then the pos

I took my bike over BC last night and explored midway. Memorial hill is worth a stop if one hasn't been. Possibly the best set of views all in one spot I've seen in the wasatch. Anyway, this was just an exploratory ride as I've never explored the nooks and crannys of midway. It was pretty cool.

The Negative:
On the way back I came across this crash:
http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=7711556
The body work you see on the lotus from the first screen of the video is all that was left on the Lotus as in I was looking at the scene from the the other side and the Lotus had exploded; carbon fiber everywhere and the engine block was basically just laying in the middle of the road. Everyone in the BMW walked away, but I watched a little bit of the authorities stablizing the driver of the lotus and his son. Then they started trying to remove them with the jaws of life. They were both in horrible condition: neck braces, oxygen masks and unconscious more or less. The Lotus and the Porsche should have just taken their cars to Larry H miller speedway where racing is appropriate. Riders and especially Utards look out for dumbasses coming into your lane especially on these canyon roads. If it had been a bike instead of a BMW that the Lotus meet the rider of the bike would not have had a chance. The lotus being so low would have probably launched a dual sport rider a LONG LONG distance. Alright, I'll get off my soap box now. It was just eye opening.

So, apparently a white porsche was racing the Lotus and the driver of the white porsche did not know one could drop over guardsman and disappear. Note that I'm advocating leaving the scene, but the white porsche still left the scene and waited like a coward for several hours hidden in BC then tried to sneak out the mouth of BC and got caught. If I would have known that the porsche driver was dumb enough to try to hide out in BC I should have hunted him down and given him one of these instead of standing around freezing my butt off as I tried to figure out the best way to get home.

The Positive
Okay, so I got stuck in BC and I hate riding parleys at night. I ran into some harley riders from milwakee at the restaurant up BC and we eventually decided to go over guardsman at about 9:30pm. These guys had HUGE harley tourers and they were worried about the dirt section, but not the interstate. I was worried about the interstate, but not the dirt section. Realizing that with three bikes all together we were better off so I guided them over guardsman and down parleys. Turned out to be a great ride; the scenery blew the harley riders minds even at night. So, we made it back to SLC had a drink and went our separate ways. It was a pretty good adventure.

My wife and I are planning on doing the Liberty/Avon pass tomorrow, starting in Clinton and ending up in Logan for lunch, then coming back again.

I just converted my wife's sumo bike to dirt, and it'll be her first time on the dirt so it will be slow rolling, lots of stops and no land speed records.

If you'd like to join us, we'd love to have you along. Yogoi, we'd love to run in/across/over/around you when we get there.

Let me know if you'd like to go. Ate oh won, fife ate niyen, niyen for fife for.

New scallywag on board.

I'm stoked. I Just purchased a used klr650, 08 with 1100 miles. First time on a bike 11years. It feels great, fun day. Located in Utard capital city. So that's that, and FYYFF's.

Charley.

I'm still alive. Thanks for remembering.

I'm doing candy store remodeling this weekend. I've got to get it done!
Some day I'll have a life.

These camp rides and Paiute trail ride and ...... are killing me. I'd love to
do those. Work then play, I've got it all messed up. As soon as it cools off
I would like to do the White Rim again. Cept I'm thinking on the Rhino.

I could be the gas, camp gear hauler for those who want to over night it.
Went in the spring easy one day ride.

Well everyone have fun this weekend. Don't worry about poor ole Pluric
working away.
