Did a nice 110 mile loop today following the newly purchased DeLorme PN-40. The GPS and mapping did fine 95% of the time, but a few times I followed it blindly down imaginary lines through the prairie, and other times on roads that were nothing more than single track cow trails. Most of the riding was rocky ATV track, rocky roads, and a short bit of fast gravel roads.

This was the route with some variants for back tracking in the Bermuda Rectangle of the prairie with many roads leading to dead ends at high power fences.

That's a sweet route, but you gotta quit riding while everyone else is at work!

Monday i rode lots of the dirt (quite rocky) on the north of the mirror lake hwy, then to whitney res, north to almost the border and back to coalville... not many people on the uintah back roads for being a holiday since is a rock crawl, but the lakes at the end were nice!

Just might pull off a big dual sport loop this weekend, light bikes... SLC/Kennecott/ButterfieldCyn/Toole/StansburyFront single track then back... any takers?

Sounds fun Fano! you and trackHead... get a job, hosers!

Trike drifting: since you don't have 2 wheels in back, substitute the throttle, right?

I played a little on Labor Day too. I know how this site adores quads
so this is for you.

Off Mirror Lake highway in the Soapstone area.

There is a Rhino in here somewhere.

My daughter leading the way...

How about 3:00 pm. We can trailer so no inspection is really needed.

skyline

managed to get a way from work a bit early and hit skyline; here's some pics:
http://picasaweb.google.com/ronald.c...KOAssDA1tKbEA#

finally found a road into the mountain valley that drops into morgan valley. it was called arthur fork spur. got pretty nasty fast as in clay with serious erosion. saw what may have been the largest fing sheep in the world. seriously i came around this corner and saw a 4 legged beast in the road w/ cankles and i said wtf to myself. first thought it was a bear, but too big to be a bear, then thought it was an elk. finally the beast stood up and looked at me with it's little sheep head. it was like a 650lb female sheep

it was a great way to start the weekend. the ride that is, i better not see any sheep jokes :)

oh, i also put some real pegs on my bike. wow what a difference as in the bike actually responds to my feet now.

yeah, the prices need to come down a lot. plus one has to be careful to be sure to get a brushless motor which from what I understand only brammo makes. the motors with brushes break down a lot.

eventually i want to commute on sunshine, but it will probably be 5-10yrs.

ooohh, that gasgas looks sweet. a 450 with a windscreen, perfect.

anybody know the price of the bike mentioned above?

I read on another thread that some people are guessing it is about 9k. I hope they are wrong, but if they are right it makes my 09 klr 650 that was 4.8k look like a great value. plus there's tons of extras to be found for the the klr, i kind of doubt there's many after market farkles for the gasgas, but i don't really know. great move by gasgas though a nice fing bike; perfect size, decent range. now the kick-start seems a bit funny. is it really a kick-start?

i better sign off or i'll go searching for the end of the internet again and be up through the AM.

Ride!

Anyone wanna ride in the Uinters tomorrow? Probly bring my fishin pole ... even though the bigass dirtbike usually bogarts my time all day.

The next best thing to being clever is to quote someone who is. Mary Pettibone Poole (don't know who she is, but she's kinda clever I think).
