I wasn't planning on riding. But I might be convinced.
Today my brother got the riding bug. He just got an '06 SV650 with only 1400 miles. I went with him to help negotiate and inspect the bike. I was in shock when I offered $2800 and the previous owner took it. What a good freakin' deal!

Actually this is not the hardest part of the trail. Even though that pictures shows there is no dirt, the shale is a decent surface with only the occasional big rock. The lower part of the trail is worse with lots of large rocks. Ask Hickonacrick about it.
Sometimes the switchbacks can be tough as well, there are a few sections that are pretty steep and loose. My 14 year old son and I last rode it in July. We were able to make it to the top. Here is a picture of him in front of the Regulator Johnson Mine. He didn't complain once. Future adventure rider this one is. Quote:

Today's Ride
I went for a fun solo DS ride this afternoon. Route is as follows: up Big Cottonwood Canyon, over Guardsman Pass to Midway, on to Francis and up Wolf Creek Pass. As the summit, I turned North on the dirt road and went over Soapstone Pass to the Mirror Lake Highway, down to Kamas, Parley's and home. I took this shot of the aspens in Soapstone Basin.
