I remember making it past the turn off to chicken corners, but I never saw this part of the trail.

Hum. The skid plate is still on in this photo. Must have lost it a bit further down the trail. For sure this is where the valve cover got cracked

Definitely didn't try that section, I would have remembered that.

And had to get some help in spots.

This looks like the section I was approaching from the south when I turned around.

Did you all make it all the way to Hwy 211 via Lockhart Basin?

I want to ride around the lake and was wondering if it is possible. Is there a route that is not blocked with gates and no tresspassing signs?

I posted a link to it a few posts back. If by the time I get home you still haven't found, I'll post the link to the GPX file again.

In short, Pony express trail on the south side up to Wendover, then over the north side of the lake and down I-15 back home.

Search the KLR 650 forums for Mknight's loop around the lake on mostly dirt. He has a good RR from his loop.

Yea, we made it out to Hwy 211. Camped at the base of the Bridger Jocks and climbed at Indian Creek. Probably the last time the 1200 will see fun that serious. My 650 now has cafe racer style handlebars and the blinkers are only held on by a thin wire or two. So are we skiing together this season or what?
