I've contemplate swapping out the front sprocket on my XR650R for slabbing... never got around to it though...

I did it. Went from a 14 to a 15. Perfect for all around use! Plus, if you know you are going to do a bunch of tight stuff, swap it back, or better yet swap in a 13!

Careful with the 13....I've read that they cause a lot of chain wear based on the tight wrap around....

And now for something completely different........Andy, you've got email, PM and has anybody else ever seen one of these?

Wow, that is quite the contraption, but a good idea I think.

I would be curios about pros and cons of contraption above versus a camper shell?

Pile-o-shit. Might as well just set up a Wal-Mart tent in the back of your truck.

Get the one that is a shell but flips forward over the cab for sleeping arrangements, then stand up height in the truck bed. They are the cats ass.

Does not work with the tonneau cover that came with the truck....I normally put on a shell but this was pre-equiped and I'd like to find something like the tent..

Got a link for that?

Terracruzzzz: we'll likely leave around then or a little later, but i've got a soft tire on for winter so i'm going to trailer to 5 mile, then ride to Eureka and back. There was/is the Tintic Cafe there, but i don't know if it's open. I want to get some grub there if it's open. My wife we'll be on her XR400, so it should be fun, and nothing too mean. Let's Ride!

Any of you Utards have a good recomendation for a commuter tire for my XR650R for the winter? My wifes Touareg came off lease and I decided to give her my truck until things pick up at work. So far, its been great, just a little cold and I am out of rear rubber.

If any of you have a rear tire for sale even... let me know!

Matt

I used Anakees for a long time. Long-lasting, good wet traction, good cornering grip and good enough for some DS riding too.

Wether they make one that fits an XR I have no idea!

As far as that Touareg, for how long have you had it? Did you have any problems as far as the VW reliability(or lack of it)?

Anakee's good, but SWMoto only shows 17" rears......scorpions come in 18" ....
