I don't adjust shit just to say I adjusted it. Shim style don't need the
adjustment schedule of tappet style.

As far as the heated grips on your Beemer you might want to change out
those ribbed tapered stock grips (I know you prefer ribbed) to get better
heat transfer. Other than that for less than $100 you can have a nice set up.

I really don't know why the switch style does not allow the grips to
get HOT. I have switches on my SVs and FZ 1 so I know it's not a
wattage issue like on the dual sports. The bikes with the Heat-Troller
can be turned up to where it's too warm.

The switch style still gives a nice "take the edge off" feeling, but after
having the other set up I prefer having the option of as much heat as
I would like.

You can wire it so that the low high settings are together and actually
melt the throttle tube. I put a switch in to do that, but never turn it on
because there is no reason to need it. I was thinking instant warm up at
the time.

I use to tease the Beemer boys with all their electric stuff until I tried it.
It's nice to have electric in our climate where you can have a 20 degree
temp change going from the valley to alltitude in an hour. Don't have
to pack bulky extra gear, just turm a knob and enjoy.

Enough is enough. I need some good gloves. The Costco POS's that my lovely wife bought will not cut this cold. What are you FF's using in this cold? Heated grips soon I hope, but I gotta do something other than these crappy gloves.

I will admit to converting to the crate..........

and when I ride now, it will be with heated gloves, the heated grips are not as effective as the gloves........again, you have to have enough wattage to power them.....

I picked up a pair of these at Motorcycle R&R just the other day. With the heated Beemer grips, they were just the ticket for the cold 20 mile commute this morning.

Olympia GT 4150 - GORE-TEX™ ALL SEASON GLOVE for $80.

These look hooky, but they really make a difference. So much is
dealing with wind chill.

Several different styles out there. I still have a set of Vetter "Hippo Hands".

Now that is dating myself with some very vintage gear. I'll put them on an
ATV once in a while if it's that cold out.

Just hope your heated gloves are on the bike when Mother Nature
decides to turn down the heat.

Harcus and GISkev with his too be fabbed sub-frame.

It was a cold ride home, but happy to do it after meeting up with these fine gentlemen. I had to drink twice the whiskey to get warm... Total perk!
Harcus, I have a B.R.P. too! Kev told me that you wanted some soft bags
and I wanted to let you know that I have a Consew 226r sewing machine
ready for custom work. Maybe we can work something out?

A pair of skis, boots, bindings, poles and some insulation. Other then that, a good pair of polarized sunglasses helps!

terracruz, The only thing I see BYU has that is much better then the U is that you get people from all over the place. It makes it for a very diverse place to study and learn from different experiences.
