On another note, I rode the 300 for the first time yesterday. 8 hours of single track at our lease following two A-riders (I guess that means they are bad asses or something like that). First time on a two smoker and I was flat out whipped at the end of the day - cramping from dehydration, ravenous from no food, slept like a dead man last night. By far, the hardest riding I have ever done short of following frog on single track with the 950 (but that was just a couple of hours).

Hick, how come you were so whipped? Was it the bike? is it harder to ride? Or was it the terrain and pace, and duration? 8 hours!

Reason I ask is I've been looking at those bikes, used. But if they beat you up that bad then maybe I'll stick with my KLX!!.

And also I just want to say howdy to the Utards

with whom I hope to ride this coming season. Perhaps that that loop y'all did last May will be repeated?

Nah, it's not the bike. It was a combo of the terrain, the duration, and the fact that I was trying to keep pace with riders that race A-class enduro.

Next time I go out, I will be wearing more breathable gear, and I will be sure to take lots of electrolytes with me. I started cramping about 2 hours into the 8 hour ride, and that made it really hard to ride well.

Plus nice job on the riding. Those smokers can be a handful for sure. All of the explosive mid-range power band. Plus jungle thick terrain in sand.

My forearms cramped and burned from holding on long before anything else gave on my first long ride in the desert on my new 250SX.
