A quick question for you guys if I may. I am planning on running over to Torrey the weekend before Memorial Day for the BMW Sport Touring get together and I was wondering what 72 from I-70 to Loa is like. I'll be blasting out on the RS and that looks like a nice little run.

It's fast sweeping curves. Very fun in summer, watch for cattle in summer.
Not sure about winter. Seems coooold though.

"It's fast sweeping curves. Very fun in summer, watch for cattle in summer. Not sure about winter. Seems coooold though." I don't mind the cold, about -10 on the ride in this morning, but I am hoping it warms up over there by Memorial Day. _______________________________________________ ArmyMedic, "slippery road snakes on that one. " You got to watch for them critters up here too. I've been all through the south end there and all directions out of Hanksville on the GS so I figure this will be a little different on the RS. That looks like a nice road but I was curious about the surface, the RS doesn't make a great dual sporter. I took the dirt road to Glade Park from the Colorado National Monument last fall on the RS and it just isn't as much fun as the GS.

Yeah the problem with cold is black ice when you're up that high in elevation. Who knows, could be completely clear though. I don't remember the slippery tar snakes (tar sealant) when I was through there last year. Don'd think they'll be slippery in the winter though.

Itch
Geeze, I got an itch!
Anybody know if there's snow on the ground at St. George? Mesquite? NWS forecasts highs in the 50s and 60s this weekend....

Says the guy who wears chaps with nothing else, then posts a picture of said ass on the internet.
^^^^^^Hhahahah, years ago I owned a faded, baby blue Ford van with now windows. A cop once pulled me over in the middle of the night, the first thing he said was "How many people in the van?" |
