If it's good enough for McQween it's good enough for me.

I think the garage fumes from the Samurai have further fucked my already piss poor proof reading skills.

Yeah, those guys can ride. Is that from "On Any Sunday"?

Very similar filming style. He rode a Husky in On Any Sunday.

Honda promo film. "Real men ride a Honda"

FWIW...I still have a full face helmet that I won as a prize at an MX race back then ('72-73?) along with my Torsten Hallman leathers & Hi Point boots!

Mementos of the past on lessons learned.

I did have a 125 Elsinore in '75. He was on a 250 it appeared. The Elsinores were a big improvement over the AT (125), CT(175) & DT(250) Yamahas of the day but they still could not come close to the suspension on the Pentons & Huskies (Cerriani).

To paraphrase my mother...Those were the days, but they weren't all good days!

Onward!

I was born that year. That would explain your ability to corner so well on gravel and other shitty surfaces. And Pluric's ability to out-wheelie the bro/brah's on their two smokes in Logan.

Oh man that video clip took me back. I remember after the into of the 125 the 250s were in such short supply that dealers wouldn't even take a deposit. The 250s never dominated like the 125s though. Great clip. I was in high school.
On Any Sunday changed my life. I saw it eight times twice sneeking out of the house and into the theatre in my home town. That movie now is a complete time machine for me. Thanks for posting.

Untill you have ridden one of these old bikes, you have no idea what we lived through(SURVIVED!), or have an idea of how far bikes have come, or realize just how good riders like DeCoster Lackey and the like really were.

MONDAY ADV RIDE:
For those that want to get out, me and another adv bike rider (KLR) are riding to Ibapah this monday via Tooele to Dugway to Fish Springs. Not sure if we are slabbing it back or coming back way we came. I'll be on my Transalp. All and any are welcome.

5W vs 10W?

changing my fork oil... manual calls for 5w, but somehow i picked up 10w... I should probably stick w/ 5w, right? any ADVantages to 10W?

And A1 did the valves on his new XR sumo

If it were me, I'd go back to the shop and stay with stock weight oil. Seems like 10w could harshen the dampening?
