"Just passin through" riders at the Abbey

Well here's a thread for those just passin through hear at the Abbey. I just had my frist two riders in last night.I was still painting the bunk house but the skeeder's were bad

and just the freshly painted floor looked great the these guys.

and thay took off with klrdave to make a atemped at going across the Denali Hwy

. I didn't get a photo but thay will be back will add it in later. There will be a place to leave your mark when guys drop in.

when the paint drys there will be air beds, tv, kitchen, lots of Alaska type reading stuff and (the best for last) a outhouse

with a view (no door)

Please tell me you didn't put one of those automatic digital game cameras in the out house...

Hi Mike! Since I'm sitting in Prince George Airport waiting to board a flight I thought I'd look in on the Alaska forum. Boy am I sorry I'll be back in LA tonight and not at the Abbey. What say you challenge your 'drive bys' and drop-in's to a photo contest? I'd like to see a rouges gallery of riders. Keep a camera and start a page on Smugmug. Let everybody get their mug online. Oh yeah, and of course their bikes loaded.

I still have yet to see your place in person, Mike. All your get-togethers have been when I'm working.

First thing I think about when lookin at that outhouse tho is MOSQUITOES! Yikes!

Since Barb is moving, I'm glad to see there will still be a Quonset hut in our group up here.

I think it's an all around great thing you're offering travelers.

Sweet! I guess you finally got the radioactive metal shavings, leprosy bacteria and the angry indian spirit problems fixed, so all thos riders can rest easy!

They were there two days ago, great guys. Doing the adventure the right way, no real plan or time schedule. Barb, you gonna be around the shop sometime? I know the move has got you movin'!

I'm in Fairbanks wandering around this area on a KLR from Colorado. My wanderings will take me that direction probably early next week. It just wouldn't be right to not stop by and say hi.

Sander Dol (Netherlands, on a TTR 600 Yamaha) headed north on Tuesday. He is headed to D2D via Deadhorse and various points in between.
He landed on Sunday, spent Monday collecting his bike from US Customs (form 3299), some assembly and shopping before leaving.
