Awww shucks, thanks Goat.

And yes, the helmet requirement in Michigan is no more.

I am happy people will have a choice, but sad that they will use it.

I could write all kinds of shit about this helmet thing but have decided to keep my opinions to myself....... for the time being. Its a waste of time getting my ass in a uproar over something I have no control over.

One thing I learned a few decades ago practicing medicine......you can protect people from most everything except themselves.

Today's actions just re-enforce that belief.

Let those who ride decide.

OK, one quick comment from me on the new helmet law. I have completely destroyed two helmets and scuffed and gouged a couple others. I was wearing them on my head when the damage occured. YMMV. Do you feel lucky boy? well,... do ya?

Oh the irony when this summer the police set up their seat belt check zones.

If you're in your cage surrounded by steel, shatterproof glass and multiple airbags you had better also have your belt buckled, or get a ticket.

Meanwhile the guy on his crotch rocket, in shorts and a tank top, with his babe on the back showing even more skin, both helmetless, will buzz on through with a wave.

I seriously doubt that the police will wave, unless your in Holland.

Blessing

Hey guys: Can someone give me the 411 on the pre-Blessing breakfast and ride for the 29th? (If there is going to be one). I can't log onto the facebook page (Facebook is blocked in China) Guess they are afraid of something

Jeepn don't know your answer but try using this proxy site; http://ninjacloak.com/

It worked for me while I was in Asia to get around the stupid national firewalls.

Actually, even most of the Harley's riders I've seen going past the shop have been wearing Helmets. Don't know if it makes a difference in type of rider, but most of them have been baggers.

Between Sunday afternoon and last night I have counted 19 Harley riders without helmets, 1 guy on a '00 era Katana 750 with shorts/tee shirt to match and 1 guy on an old nighthawk.

Some of the Harleys were in numbers so you have the group think going on. Don't want to be that knob in the group wearing a helmet looking like a fool.

I would imagine once summer hits you will see an increase of sportbike "riders" here on the lakeshore/beach without helmets in attempt to impress.

It all averages out. Loud pipes will save lives and going without a helmet will take them. I thought about getting a 883 R but didn't think I could handle being treated like a leper, with it being a girls bike. Now I know I couldn't get one. A 883 rider with a full coverage would be a outcast in the motorcycling community..........I haven't heard the term "knob" in many moon. You must be from Back in the Day.?
