BRAVO !!!!!! WELL DONE!!!!!
: freaky

Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures........too freaking cool!!!!

I just checked in with the ratbike forum, apparently the car was broken in two pieces, they were going to pull them out but were interrupted by the local constabulary and told to leave.....from what I read it was quite a ruckus, a rescue truck and the police were called and a huge crowd was watching from the catwalk.....I hope they took video and plenty of pictures....

From reading the other forum it seems the Car was trashed and not salvagable

Couldn't get it out... but... there it is on a trailer.

Or, did you mean they couldn't get the body out in addition to the frame? As that is what it looks like.

And what do the police care one way or the other?

See, I knew that once I tried to quit this thing, it would get pulled out.

You can thank me later.

The SSOD was lying upside down and 30 degrees nose-down. When the rat-pack began digging they found there was only the base , nose and rear sides of the body left. They got it to the bank when P.C.Plod (or for you yanks, Officer Dibble) arrived.
He stood next to me on the bridge and it went something like this:-

P.C.Plod " You down there, come out of there"
silence from below, but squelching and heaving continued
P.C.Plod "Come out of there now"
again silence from below, accompanied with more squelching and heaving.
I told him that they weren't doing any harm and he said "yes but they shouldn't be down there!" in whinging sort of voice.

obviously how to deal with this scenario had never been taught at training school. so P.C.Plod just wandered about trying to work out what to do next.

Next to arrive was a paramedic who had been called by the same helpful person who called Plod. The poor man had parked on the other side of the bridge so he had a long walk for nothing. ( yes, I know that it was a waste of his valuable time but we didn't call him did we?)

From mud to terra firma SSOD lost its body. basically the fibre-glass was done for. (It's still there, in pieces if anyone wants it)

Plod starts again on one of the shore crew who tells him that we were actually doing the town a service by removing rubbish from the river. (a novel concept, from what i saw of the debris-strewn mud.)

Again Plod, unsure of what to do stood of to one side and observed whilst having the countenance of one chewing a wasp

With the SSOD on dry land and everyone still ignoring him, Plod quietly slipped away to pick on someone who (hopefully ) would take notice of him.

Altogether well worth the 200 mile round-trip to see!

Once again , Well done Rat-persons!

p.s. I think someone here owes them 2 cases of beer

Finally after such a long time. Great Job to the Rat bike Org.!!! Its very funny to hear about the cops over there.

I think the ones over here would have asked them to clean up a little more junk since they were already down there. (maybe)

I think this was the longest I ever subscribed to a thread on this site. WELL worth the wait!

Coppers

Funny how the cop wandered off without really trying to arrest anyone. If that was the USA the FBI ,CIA, BorderPatrol, Homeland Security would have been called and branded them all Terrorists!

Thanks Oldenough!

Hey dude, thanks for clearing up the confusion, the pictures are really great and I can't wait to see the "rest of the story" when everyone else posts their pictures....
What an adventure....you all look like you were having way too much fun pulling the moster out of the mud...It would have been too cool to have been there and watch the chinese fire drill of the coppers and rescue guys...
I'm still amazed that it's outta there....and mighty proud of all you guys for taking the initiative and organizing the whole thing.....way too cool....
Saw another post on what the car actually looked like....would be interesting to see if there's a serial number somewhere on the frame to trace it by...
So...what next? Someone gonna mount the frame and strap some kind of body on it?

Just go to that link, on the right hand side bar, you'll see a section marked
"Discussions" and that will open into the forum sections...
