I can FINALLY sign in!!
It's been a long couple of weeks, but I just bought an '03 640 Adventure from another ADVrider, SATEX, so I'm signing in!! Yahoo!!!
Rode the bike from Lubbock Texas home to Park City Utah, three days, 1,022 miles. What a great ride on an awesome bike! With every mile that past, I fell more in love with the bike. 99% of the miles on this trip were highway and backroads with a short, 15 mile excursion on a powerline road. Discovered that this bike is sprung WAY too light for offroad work (at least for me), but is as plush as a Goldwing on the highway. Already have a seat on order from Bojangles (countin' down the weeks...), an under-the-bar Scotts mount from Loaded with a fresh damper is sitting on my workbench, along with one of Loaded's fuel screws...the Touratech catalog is open and the credit card is quivering in my hand! This is gonna be a fun ride... KenR screwed with this post 02-08-2006 at 08:47 PM Reason: cuz i suk et speling |

![]() It was 16F in Ft. Sumner, NM Tuesday morning. Billy the Kid and I caught up over a coffee. He didn't have a lot to say, but the vibe in the cemetary spoke volumes! ![]() ![]() ![]() It was a little chilly on Soldiers Summit. ![]() What a great trip. |

Thanks.
The previous owner had the headlight covers made, one amber for the high beam, a clear for the low beam. He said that he rarely used the high beam at night, but the amber lens was a real attention getter when flashed on at intersections, while passing, etc. day or night. I hit the high beam during the day while following an eighteen wheeler with polished aluminum rear trailer doors and, wow, it really did look distinctive, almost alarming. Haven't tried it at night yet. |

I didn't mangle the rear subframe so Rub's one up on me. My stuff was trashed so it won't help Rub any... I know of one tank in the US F/S but the shipping would probably make it less desireable. Rub check eBay like he said for second hand and sometimes stock from shops. Glad your OK, and welcome ![]() Oh yeah, and welcome to you too KenR. Give us a close up of the headlight guards and any other mods you'd like to show off.

Just like KenR I finally get to sign in!!! Yeah! I just bought a 2003 640 Adventure from Scuderia West today!
Seeing how I am currently located in Haiti, working, I won't actually pick it up until late March, or possibly April. I'm already planning a baja trip, and I will definately be seeing Mr. boejangles for a seat. I will get pics edited into here soon. I am definately looking forward to meeting up with some other ADVriders and having many new adventures.
