For people like Creeper who are afraid of the unpaved, RoadRunner Magazine has a nice article this quarter (or bimonth?) on some rides that shamrock out of Kalispell. I am sure there are some great trails that shamrock off their loops

Speaking of dirty, I'm getting ready to ride to an overnighter at Jo-momma beach state park in Puget Sound and it is raining like a cow pissin' on a flat rock! So, by Sunday evening, you may have the first ever anywhere pictures of my bike, and me... dirty!

Take er' easy,
Creep
I can't wait to see the pictures of your bike dirty! You'r bikes cleaner than some of the new ones on my floor

new 640ADV owner

I'm a new 640Adventure R owner. Picked it up this past March and just in the process of getting it all sorted out. Touratech mount for my Garmin GPS176c using the factory KTM roadbook holder, dual-star heated grips w/heattroller, Hepco-Becker factory KTM Gobi (the grey plastic from the 950) luggage and that's about it.

Trying to sort out a pipe/carb/airbox modifications and steering dampener too
at some point.

No picture needed as it looks just like everyone else's.

Modern Baja service station:

Mods:

Cut the muffler open and removed the baffles, added diffusers.
Removed the top of the air box.

The air box modification results in the filter getting dirty very quickly. What is an "air box door"? Who makes them? Do they work?

KTM make the airbox door. It's a replacement for the airbox access door that's under the left side panel of the bike. The door has a hole cut in it with a fine mesh across it. It's for better airflow rate. KTM-SOMMER recommend keeping the top of the airbox on and just using the door as this gives enough flow, unless you have the '03 onwards "high flow" head.

The door is in the KTM HardParts catalogue, part number 584.06.003.200

Thanks KTiM. As the existing air box can't be made whole again, I may put a new unit in and try the door. Who is KTM-Sommer?

Here's my Baja thread:

Ahhh... You removed the entire top of the airbox (as in cut out/off?) Many remove the rubber snorkel, which is a debatable gainer. Many have found out the snorkel left on, and a hole cut in the side cover of the airbox yields the best results.
