Hey Happe,

Nice LH/RH headlight mod! It looks like the mask is derivative of the pre-2001 Adventure, but one piece, and trimmed back to allow more airflow to the oilcooler (?) on upper right.

Any idea as to the spring rate in the front forks?

I like your bike.

Go the Blue/Orange crew!

Paolo

Hello all. I guess it is high time for me to post a pic of my "second wife." I hope to be taking a trip with her to Alaska at the end of the summer.

Now if I can just figure out this picture posting thing, then you should be able to see her (my 2003) below.

Did you have the tank guards fabricated or are they available somewhere?

Mifopa,

The tank guards are a new product from Hepco Becker in Germany, the same company that is making those freebie Tupperware panniers for the LC8. The guards were a PITA to install, and required some modification and tweaking, but I am happy with them now. As you can see by this shot, they do an excellent job of guarding the fuel petcock.

Regards

Can you advise how much and where you got this. I am having a little trouble getting a reply from the manufacturer. I am in Australia and need something like this.

Thanks! Availability in the US that you know of?

Odd question for anyone - know any good shops or otherwise for me to source some of this Euro gear while I am in Turkey here in about two weeks?

I found my distributor through the Hepco Becker website

www.hepco-becker.de

Once you get to the main page, click on WORLDWIDE, and you should be able to find them in your area....actually, forget what I just said. You can order them from me for about the price of an Akrapovic exhaust set up!!!

Just to let you know, these are not a perfect fit out of the box! I think they were designed with the low fender 2004 in mind, but where there is a will, and a big hammer nearby, they will work.

Regards

Scoot jockey,

Thanks! Turns out the distributer for the US is a short ride from me. I am planning to go see him soon. Thanks again!

might be a new 640 adv owner if...

Can someone tell me if a 03 640 Adventure sold in Canada (Quebec) with 600 miles could be licenced in California??? I wonder if KTM N. America imported more than one variety (i.e. emissions standards) of the 640 - I am guessing not but KTM in Cali won't contact me (phone calls, emails... jerks!).

I need to know ASAP as the opportunity is passing soon!

You need to have over 7500 miles on the odometer otherwise it's not getting licensed in Cali, been through this a half dozen times.
