Searched the Thread index and no luck. I put risers on under the bars. Now when I turn the bike full lock to the right, it stalls! No clue what is causing it. Any ideas? thx, Jon

manual decomp cable needs re-routing or like mine (needs lengthening)
i'm using a Scotts BRP top triple + a raiser added again

click on pic for BIG:
you can see the cable running through between the raiser atop of the top triple clamp. (mine is not connected as it needs approx 400mm lengthening)

What do you think?

I also noticed that the plastic cover is off to expose the upgraded air filter side cover.
I have that part but the plastic is on top of it. I got the bike that way. Am I supposed to lose the outer plastic cover?
Thanky
Those were TKC80s, but they are on their last leg.

I am running a Dunlop 908 in the rear now and a tkc80 up front. Think its a solid all around combo. Might swap the front to an MT21 if I head to baja, but otherwise like the setup. Granted I love the tkc80 front and rear, as a good reliable setup if you are mixing pavement and offroad. I've run them into copper canyon and they've always proven reliable and predictable. the 640 just seems to burn up the rear tire faster then my dakar did, so I went for the proven 908.

As for the airfilter question, not 100% sure of the answer. the bike came setup that way and at altitude, it seems to run fine so I am leaving it as is and checking the airfilter frequently for dust and dirt buildup.

A friend of mine has had great luck with the Dunlop 998's but I can wear out 4 sets of el cheapo Shinko's for the same price it would cost me for the 998's.

Locally, the Dunlop 606 rear is a good bet, seems to work as an all-rounder and is reasonable on tarseal too, plus they are relatively cheap and come in 130 as well. 120 might be a bit narrow.
For fronts I've had a great run from a Michelin Starcross HP4, the grip is great both on and off road.

Nope but interested in how you fair with the Tractionator and cheng shin.

I do agree with Godsilla, the d606 are a good allrounder, and last as long or sometimes longer than a lot of the more expensive tyres.

i've only tested on the 92 XR600RN later 630 the chenchin C755 , Dunlop 908 , trellbourg teracross ?, OE irc that was with the bike new & a pirelli all wore around the 3K mark. the chenchin was the best for the $

once my 908RR is done on my 950SE i'll try the motoz Tractionator Desert HT (i can buy a front & rear + delivered for the $$$ of a D908RR) & are easier to obtain than the Dunlop 908RR if they are as good as i have read from others using them i'll stay with them for both bikes.

Until your email, I didn't know about this event. Granted until two weeks ago I was a BMW owner and would have been flogged at a KTM event.

Just talking to two buddies of mine last night, also KTM owners, about a fall trip to Moab. This could be fun. I'll check it out and thanks for the 411...

I'm in process of trying to get a hall pass to go out there myself. We'll have to stay in touch. I see you're from Boulder...

Sounds like a plan. We've got a good posse of KTM riders up in the Boulder bubble and I think they'd be down for this event.
