Mine work just great, though I am thinking about getting a giant loop great basin for it, as well as, to mount on my other bikes. This is due to space / design issues and not having to mount as many bags for a long trip as I do currently. NOT because of quality, strength, etc .......

No frame, I just sling them on and they're very secure. Here are some pics, though they're not the greatest.







Due to various reasons I went down 4 times that day ....... And the bags barely budged, plus (except for the mud) there was no scratching or tearing on the bags, even when going down on gravel.

So I'd say they're mondo robust, and you can sling them onto the bike with no frame, and they're stable and secure as hell.

I've been really happy with mine too, the pannier guards on the Pro Moto Billet rack work great. I tried running them far forward on the trans Labrador and the weight on the side panel broke the charcoal canister mount broke off the subframe. All good now.

forward mounting to get the weight in front of the rear axle, excellent rack option

this was the result, it blew out through the side panel

all packed 2 up to AC DC, no issues, don't notice the weight being back there at all

and yes they are water proof in very heavy rain

when I go desert racing in local club, I use Kenda (I think its the 779) which I like very much.

And, I have a part number, from a thread titled "640 adventure seat", or something to that effect.

I'm looking for the KTM 640 comfort saddle. I've seen one in person, and it was nice and squishy.

I want to get one for my 2000 640 ...... can anyone confirm that this is in fact the part number for the comfort saddle?

Also .... I'm looking to get an FMF slip on for my 640. Off of FMF's site, they have the Q4 for the 640, but for the year of 2006. Does anyone know if that would fit straight on to a 2000? The price didn't seem bad at all - 287.00 USD.

Any info, thoughts, and opinions would be great .....

The stock 03 comfort seat for the Adventure has a seat pan part#58207040400
The 03 LC 4 seat pan part # is 58407040200 this one is for use with the 18 liter tank and wont fit the Adventure tank...

Have a look at the # on the bottom of your seat pan and see what you have...

My 2000' 640 has a stock muffler off an 04' 625 SXC, I only had to move to different mounting holes on the subframe.
