Imo

Getting to the IMO ...... after installing the new wire lead for my heated gear, and turning her on, the IMO was flashing with the phrase "Enter parameters"

I did ...... and after it saved the parameters and came "online" I had 0000000 miles on it.

Got the bike started, etc. But now, every time I turn the bike off, and turn it back on, the IMO flashes with the phrase "enter parameters"

So is the IMO blown, or is it something else ........

Sounds as if the battery is toast. Its very common on these. That and a wire breaking from vibration. Both are easy & cheap fixes. It takes a standard watch battery(2047?). But both will require a soldering iron. Reheat the solder to pry the battery out. Might take allitle muscle but not much. Or if its the broken wire you can just solder it back. The only thing that concerns me is that it happened after a jump and the heated grips were installed.

Thanks for the info ..... I'm good with a soldering iron .... the thing I wonder about, is what to do regarding the mileage being reset to 0 on the IMO. I have no intentions of selling the bike, etc, but how do I, if at all possible, get the mileage back on the thing. Or is it just reset, and that's that?

Pissed I am in the same boat!

We are screwed because of it. What sucks for me is that my bike really was a very low mileage bike. You will have to sell as mileage unknown legally.Your mileage will start over once the battery is replaced. But I dont think you will have a issue unloading a 640 ADV. They are pretty scarce in North America ya know!

Like it more every time I ride it.
Why did KTM get away from the 2 piece clear fairing? To me this the best setup.

Just re-read this .....

It wasn't heated grips .... just a quick connect wire to the battery for my Heat Troller. I've replaced those wires numerous times, as the end connector seems to fail after a season or two. No biggie to me, as it's a 10 dollar cable.

I think it was more the jump, with the spark action happening when the positive and negative gator clamps touched from the battery I was jumping from.

Hey gents. Looking for ideas with pics for wind protection/fairing/windshield for the 640/625 enduro model. I know, I know one of you is going to say buy a Rally but no, that's not what I want.

I'm sure there's some ingenius types out there that have fabbed something up. Let's see it!
